Messed Up Truths

Life never really turns out the way you expect it to. But when your 29, dumped, sacked and living with your parents...your just doomed.

Follow my story as I share with you the highs and lows of being a 29yr old girl going crazy...desperate not to reach the big...I can't even say it without shedding a tear (3 0)!!

13. The betrayal

I couldn’t stop thinking about Kim, what was wrong with her? Was she that bored to make all these lies was driving me crazy.

I spoke to my mother about it, using the hypothetical scenario. But every time I mentioned the word “friend” she’s be quick to ask me if I were the so called “friend.” Followed by going through the entire list of friends I had to find out who this mystery person was. In the end I just gave up, there was no point, she wasn’t going to give me any healthy advice.

I called the only person I could talk it about...Moby.

“Hey Moby, what are you doing?”

“Good I need to talk to you.”

Ten minutes later Moby was sitting in front on me.

“I’m going to tell you something, and I know it won’t go anywhere but I have to say it anyway. Please do not tell anyone this, especially Rick.”

“Rick? What’s Rick done?”

“Nothing, it’s not Rick it’s Kim.”

“Yes Moby, just listen. I think Kim’s lost the plot. A few months back Kim confessed to having an affair.”

“Affair!” Moby interrupted, just as shocked as I was, when I first heard about it.

“Yes. She told me about Manchester, Bora Bora...”

“I never wanted this to happen.” Moby blurted out, his face instantly pale, as though all the blood had instantly been sucked out of it.

“I’m sorry to get you involved but...”

“It’s Kim...she’s crazy. When she wants something she never takes no for an answer...” Moby roared.

“Moby you’ve lost me. That’s the thing I think Kim made the entire thing up. I really think she’s having this mid life crisis. Do you think I should ask her straight out.”

“No! Just leave her, let her and Rick sort out whatever the issue is.”

“But Rick doesn’t know!” I moaned, “So how can he sort it out?”

“Let Kim sort it out then, just leave her alone.” Moby yelled.

“But Moby don’t you think it’s weird to make up a lie such as going to Bora Bora?”

Just that very second Rick, out of nowhere, interrupted me.

“Bora Bora.” Rick added, “You planning on a trip?” He smiled.

I paused. Ok now was the time not to give a shit about lying!

“Yeah maybe.” I sheepishly lied.”

“Moby’s the right guy to ask. He wouldn’t shut up about it”

I paused, gathering my thoughts, no it couldn’t be...

“When did you go Bora Bora?” I asked.

“I..I...Urm a...a while. How’s was work.” Moby swift turned his attention to Rick.

“When exactly did you go?”I repeated myself, this time using my firm voice.

“He went in August right? That must have been awesome.” Rick smirked.

                I felt even sicker now.

“Yeah I’m sure he had lots of fun!” I mumbled.

I couldn’t believe what was happening...this was worse than finding out Uncle Jack is in fact your real father, not that I have an uncle Jack. But I think you understand what I’m trying to say here.
