The New Girl in Cheshire!

Nicole Johnson. No one special, just a girl from Cali. In 2010 she got accepted into a foreign exchange student program, and in just a week, she would be heading off to a new family, a new life in Cheshire. It doesn't take long for her to find someone she likes, but is the feeling mutual, or is it all a love game?

This is just a little notice that this story might contain PG-13 content in it. So if you haven't had "the talk" with your parents, stray from this story.

9. "Cuts, Eating Disorders, Smoke, and Strawberry Hill."

I really let depression get the best of me. I hardly ever showed up for dinner and when I did, I just sat there. Zoned out from the conversation, ignoring what people said to me. At the beginning of February  I weighed 125 pounds, now-just a short two days before my dreaded birthday-I was down to a comfortable weight of 100.2. My cutting increased, a lot, so I stayed in sweaters whenever I was at home, and I wore a thin jacket over my uniform. I'll be damned if I let Harry see what he has done to me. Anne, of course, was worried. She tried to talk to me every now and then, but I ignored her.  I told Leah everything. (except the little room, I still kept that to myself.) She told me I had every right to do whatever I want to do to my body. Although I have to admit, the really bad stuff didn't kick in until my birthday. Leah was talking about these two girls, "Lara and Holly." She said they were the real BAMFS of Cheshire Creek Private School. She took me to them in out first free period. "Hey." I said in a very monotonic tone. "So this is Nicole I'm guessing? Damn, Leah, you said she was depressed. Quite the understatement." Holly said. "Nicole, that's Holly. I'm Lara. Nice to meet you." She put her hand out offering a shake. I obliged and she sneaked a cigarette in to my hand. "Follow us, Dean Patrick doesn't look in the west wing." I followed and that's when I had my first fag. I always heard that your first one got you high, and boy did I believe it. I took my first drag and nearly died. "It's her first tine." I looked over at Leah. She was an obvious professional. I put my head between my knees and thought of no one but Harry. I took a second, very, very long drag. I reminded myself of *Alaska Young. Smoking to kill.

The bell rang and we all through our cigarette butts on the ground and walked to our next class. When I got to English Tanner wasn't there, but Harry and Felicity were. They hadn't taken a seat yet, so anywhere I sat could be proven problematic. I sat in the middle of the middle row, and who should sit in the pair of desks next to me. Yup, you guessed it, Harry and Felicity. Harry sat down closes to me and whispered, '"Have you been..smoking?" I just nodded my head and ignored him for the rest of the class. Everything was fine, Leah and I talked about smoking and just general things. I was fine, just peachy until lunch. Harry decides to sit right next to me. "Where is your little whore?" I asked him fighting memories. "She got in trouble and has to work with Mrs.Halter at lunch all week. Happy birthday!" I rolled my eyes at his silly comment. "Harry." I turned to him. "I still haven't forgiven you. You said you'd come back for me. You lied to me." I got up and Harry grabbed my wrist lightly. "Ow!" I exclaimed. He had grabbed one of my newer cuts. He looked at me puzzled. I know what he was thinking. "I barely touched her." "I know you're still the one." I thought I heard Harry whisper. No, that's the fag talking. I convinced myself as I ran away/

I went in the bathroom. I need something sharp. I thought to myself. I looked around and then I got a crazy idea. Scissors. I ran into the nearest class room and grabbed a pair of scissors. I only hurt for a split second more. Then, nothing. No pain, no betrayal. Nothing. I cleaned myself up and walked to the library, rechecked out "Looking for Alaska.", my favorite book, and read it silently until the final bell rang. I ignored everyone, Leah, Holly, Lara, and a very relentless Harry.

The book talked a lot of "Strawberry Hill." It's a wine, and Alaska loves it. So naturally I had to get my hands on a bottle. And I did. Holly knew exactly what it was and she hooked me up with a bottle within an hour of my asking. "Happy birthday!" She said as she handed me the bottle and disappeared down my street. I hid in my jacket and had birthday party for one. When Anne called me down for cake I was a little tipsy. Alcohol had a big effect on me for 2 reasons. 1. It was my first time consuming alcohol of any sort. 2. Being my weight, it went straight through me and it's effects settled in fast. "I'll be dawn in a minwet!" I yelled down. Maybe more than tipsy. I had half a piece of cake and ran back upstairs, back to my Strawberry Hill. I drank half the bottle, then saved the rest for later. In one day I had smoked my first fag, and drunken the best tasting thing in my life, and it wasn't Anne's cake either.

*Alaska Young is the main character in John Greens "Looking for Alaska" my absolute favorite book. "You guys smoke to enjoy, I smoke to kill." <3
