The Camera (Justin Bieber Competition)

Okay, I am not a fan, but because Fan Fiction is such a popular category on Movellas I decided to give it a go to see if I could write a successful Fan Fiction piece for the competition, As Long As You Love Me. Enjoy, and please comment on what you think as I am new to this. Thank you!

Molly is a teenage writer who hates nothing more than her own life. Her parents are pushy, her agent is pushy, and the pushiest person of all is the film producer who wants to turn her book into a blockbuster movie. It should seem like a dream, but when Max Champagne wants none other than Justin Bieber to star alongside Molly as the main characters, she can't imagine anything worse.

8. Flying High

The houses, tree-tops and long, snaking motorway turned into a toy town as the plane swooped upwards above the clouds. It was a clear morning, but still cold, and I sat on the recliner with Justin's arm hung casually over my shoulder. It shouldn't have made me feel any warmer, but funnily enough it did.

"Drink?" Justin asked me, pulling back his arm and holding it up in the view of the flight attendant.

"Um... Yeah, sure. Thanks," I quickly added, smiling at him. While Justin ordered our drinks, I unlocked my IPhone and checked for any messages. There was still a part of me that hoped for some good luck or at least well meaning messages from my old friends, but there were none. Not that I expected any of them to actually wish we well on my journey to fame and stardom, but news like this spread like wildfire where I lived, and they would have known regardless.

Sometimes I wish I had at least one friend my age.

Then Justin put my huge enamel mug of hot chocolate in front of me, and I lost all my worries in the cream and marshmallows. I looked at Justin. There was a part of me that thought that maybe... Maybe Justin was my friend.

But did I want that?

"Justin?" I asked. He looked up from his mug, and stared into my eyes wonderingly with his coffee ones. Then I blushed, and turned my face down. "Oh, never mind."

"What?" He put his mouth close to my ear. "What did you want to ask me?"

"Nothing," I almost whispered. I saw the few flight attendants that there were peering over their work, trying to listen into our conversation. I bet it looked strange to them, seeing a plain young girl, barely sixteen, off to film a movie in Hollywood with an eighteen year old legend.

Believe me, I understood where they were coming from.

                                                            * * *

The next thing I knew, the air had changed dramatically from an icy blow to a sticky, sweltering heat. I opened my eyes timidly, and found to my embarrassment that my head was laid on Justin's burly shoulder. I shot upwards and checked to see if he was angry.

Justin had his head leant back against the headrest, his headphones in his ears, and his eyes closed. I knew he wasn't asleep though, as his hands were patting complicated drum patterns on his knees, which were also tapping on the floor. Then his eyes opened, as he felt the sudden release of pressure from his shoulder. He took one earphone out, and grinned at me. "Nice sleep."

"I'm so sorry," I apologised. "I was just tired, and..."

He cut me off. "Don't be stupid, babe," he said, holding out an earphone for me. "Listen to this. It's my new song."

Oh great. Now he would want my opinion on his songs, when I had never listened to one in my whole life. I smiled weakly at him, and put the headphone in my ear. Justin's voice wavered slightly for a moment, breathing the words "As long as you love me..." and then it was a heavy bass beat with Justin's voice just cutting in between.

It was heavy, it was upbeat, it was... Justin.

And that's why I liked it.

Still listening to his voice singing into my ear, I looked out the window. Vast amounts of green and a sort of orange dust seemed to cover the land that lay below me, along with a huge crevice full of water, and Justin pointed out that this was the Hollywood Reservoir. I didn't know where the time went, I couldn't believe that we were here. Everything seemed so fleeting.

I wasn't sure I liked it.

Justin gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Say hello to your new home, baby."

I smiled at him. For a moment, our eyes still held to each other's, I listened to the lyrics of his song. "But I will... Take my chances...

As long as you love me..."

The plane touched down in Hollywood, California, USA.
