19. Family

Claire's POV

After I finished with the crepe, I was given the task of waking guests. Usually this task would be easy if they weren't all teenagers who; when they were asleep, wanted to stay asleep. “Come on Sydney. Wake up.” I said shaking her over and over until she looked at me with an annoyed expression.

“Nikki made crepes.” I smiled as sweetly as I could. To try to make her forgive me from waking her from her slumber. She got up and walked into the kitchen, stumbling a few times before she became fully aware of reality.

“Psst. Annabelle.” I whispered and i tickled her feet lightly. She stifled a giggle as her eyes flew open. “I knew you were awake.” I smiled. “Can i help wake them up? I’m really good at waking Nikki and Caspar.” She said sitting criss-cross on the couch. “Sure go ahead.” I grinned as she bounced off the couch and started hitting Niall with a pillow.

“Anna-” “This is how you have to wake up boys.” She giggled as she continuously hit him into reality. When he woke up he attacked Annabelle with tickles. Like my sister would. I sighed, something I would never wake up to anymore. “Nikki made crepes.” I said putting on a fake smile.

Niall grinned as he made his way towards the kitchen. Annabelle woke up all the boys one by one, and then they all made their way to the kitchen to eat. I chased Annabelle into the kitchen to where everyone was laughing and eating, much like a family. Family. That was a word that had almost lost it’s meaning to me, but maybe i can gain it back.
