26. Breakfast with Louis

Louis’s P.O.V.

I parked on the street and ran over to open the door for Claire, she smiled as she stepped out of the car.  I shut the door behind her and we walked up to cafe` fromage.  There was a patio outside, but it was too chilly, so I opened the door holding it for Claire, as she walked inside.  It was warm and cozy inside, and it smelled of freshly baked bread and pastries.  We sat down and ordered tea, until we figured out what we wanted.

Claire was still waking up from her 3 hour slumber, but still managed to look like an angel sitting there.  She wasn’t wearing any makeup, but the natural look was way better than her face covered in a bunch of beauty products.  Her blond hair was in a effortless looking bun, it was the first time I had ever seen her hair up.  There was something on her shoulder I had never noticed before, probably because her hair was covering it, a light red scar that ran from her collarbone to the edge of her shoulder.

“Where’d you get your harry potter scar?” I asked her lightly.  Claire was in a sort of daydream staring at the wall.  I traced the scar and she snapped out of it.  “Are you tired?” I asked giggling.
“I’m just a little sleepy” she replied leaning her head against my shoulder.
“So where did you get your harry potter scar?”  I repeated.  Claire blushed and her eyes moved to the floor. “I’m sorry, you don’t have to answer that...” I trailed off.
“No it’s okay, I got it from the crash it’s a daily reminder of what happened.  No matter what I can’t seem to escape the memories.”  she said quietly. I nodded, letting what she said sink into my skin. She would be never able to escape the tragic of her sisters death, no matter how hard she tried.

Always having a reminded of what happened. It was much like a tattoo, you could agree. But, in a tattoo, you could away get it removed, as where a scar would follow you for the rest of your life.

I looked up at her face, she wasn’t exactly looking at anything. Just the emptiness of the café floor, not daring to look at the menu quite yet or at my face. Claire pulled her head up to look at me, she gave a small smile before turning a light shade of pink.

“I have an idea, but you will have to wait till after we finish eating to find out what it is” I smirked, as she stared at me questioning what it was. “I’m not going to tell you, so you might as well pick something to eat.” I smiled as i pulled up my menu, hiding my face, and hearing a giggle come from the other side of the table.

“Louis, will you please tell me now?” Claire asked tugging on my hand, as we were leaving the café, I have a chuckle. Laughing at how cute she was, and how her eyebrows were scrunched together the entire time whilst we ate, trying to figure out what i was thinking. I looked at her once again, her blue eyes filled with complete wonder, much like a child on christmas morning.

I gave her hand a light squeeze, as she looked up at me. Blue eyes meeting blue eyes. Blonde meeting brunette. She smiled at me, a true smile. It wasn’t like the other smiles she had given everyone else, the smiles that just showed her lips and her eyes would pretend to shine. But this time, this time she smiled at me, her beautiful white teeth showing, her blue eyes sparkling as were mine.

She leaned her head onto the side of my arm, resting it while we walked. I thanked god that he was allowing this to happen, thankful that i could just be with her. I adjusted my arm so then it was now around her shoulder and she was holding onto my waist. I couldn’t help but feel my heart race as if it was in a marathon, but instead of a golden medal, the prize was Claire.

I stopped walking as i faced the building where the surprise was. It was partly hidden if you just glanced over, but it was the best in town. Claire looked at me with confusion before looking at the building, the color draining from her face. “Don’t worry.” I smiled hugging her a bit more. Claire nodded, glancing at the building once again. “We will match, we can show how strong we are, and how strong we will be.” I said giving her a kiss on the forehead, as i opened the door and she walked inside. Knowing that something wouldn’t be the same.
