35. Christmas

Amber’s Point of View

I couldn’t stop smiling as Niall led me backstage. Christmas Eve. I thought that this would be the worst holiday ever… but now it seemed like the best.

As soon as the backstage door closed, we kissed. It was the best feeling ever.

“Again… congratulations!” Louis said as he came backstage. Thankfully though, he didn’t see us kiss.

“Thanks, again.” I smiled broadly and accepted another hug from him. The other boys all came backstage. “By the way… you are still all invited over!!”

“We wish you a merry Christmas… and a happy new year!” the all too familiar sound of five voices entered my head. It was a nice way to wake up Christmas morning… but seriously?  Their voices harmonized perfectly, and Niall was playing the guitar. Slowly.. I turned around to see One Direction standing by my bedroom door.

Eleanor, Danielle and Perrie and I were all sleeping in my bedroom so we wouldn’t get distracted by the presents underneath the tree in the middle of the night. The boys, however, had decided to sleep in the living room to guard the presents. I had a suspicion that they were also looking out for Santa Clause… but I wasn’t too sure.

“Morning, boys!” I moaned. “You know how early it is?”

“Early enough to open presents!” Louis excitedly said as he bounced on the air mattress. “I wanna know what I got!”

“It was your birthday yesterday, Louis,” Eleanor groaned. “You’re 21 years old now… aren’t you a little old for presents?”

“Ya… he must be,” I agreed with a smug smile. Louis put on a sad face, making it hard not to laugh.

“Okay… okay… presents for everyone!” Danielle moaned. “Only if we get ten more minutes of sleep.”

“Ten more minutes to wait for presents is like forever!” Harry complained as he came into the room and pulled off the blankets of all of us.

“Hazza!” All us girls screamed at the same time.

“What?? I just wanna open my present!” He sounded like a little kid, of which I didn’t blame him. Even I was a bit excited about opening the presents.

“Okay… okay… okay…” Perrie groaned. “We’re up! Just give us five minutes to get downstairs.”

“Yay!” the boys all shouted at the same time, making us girls laugh. They then left, leaving the door closed.

“They act just like little kids,” I commented as I went to find a sweater and my slippers.

“That’s the fun of it! It’s okay to have a bit of fun once in a while and act like a little kid!” She reached for a sweater and pulled it on.

“Yeah… I can’t wait to see what I got!”  I opened the door and ran down the stairs, the girls following me. I could already tell this was going to be a great Christmas!
