12. Beating

Soph's POV

The beat of his heart lingered through the constant drip of his blood. I panted hard, My eyes fluttered to the muscle that was still beating for it's master and was shaking from the alien air that surrounded it. My eyes wandered around the scene. Blood was spilled and was beginning to crust over, it was painted over the leaves and trees. Organs and limbs were dotted over the wood, my mother and the pup had ran off. I didn't care about them, I looked to the dissected creature by my paws, the king of the jungle had fallen at last. I turned, kicking dust in his direction, and headed towards Harry and the others. As I reached him my head swung down to the floor, I was felling ashamed to a degree I had never even believed was able to reach. The deep rumbles of barking didn't help how I felt right know. Harry's cooling fingers wiped some of crimson liquid away.

"It's okay, I would have done the same." I heard the questioning in his tone, I just pretended that I didn't hear it. I took a leaf and continue to clean me. As he did the leaf had overfilled but he didn't care, as long as he got it off me. Once he was finished, his fingers were dipped back in to the blood. He smeared it on to my face.

"Now you look ready for battle." He laughed at what I looked like, I could feel the contractions through the, now drying, blood.

I am so proud to call you my daughter Sophie. I wish I had moves like those!

I looked to him and wagged my tail. The forest fell in to silence, some remembered the loss today. I treasured my friends. I remembered on all of these days I have had with Harry and Jacob. I sighed when I looked into his deep green eyes, perfect for the forest environment, his hand scratched just behind my ear. I could tell he was sad but he never wanted to show it, he didn't like showing his emotions in front of me. He did with every one else, but it was me he left out of that group. He lifted his hand and walked away, I went in the opposite direction and changed in to my human self. This form was alien to me, just like my wolf one was to me many a month ago. I watched the birds flutter and chatter among the trees, oblivious to me and the others around. I was torn from this by a strangled cry and whimper. I turned to see the green eyes that I fell for, but these were panicked. I let my gaze falter from him and saw why he had made that dying sound. A thick, wall like hand was wrapped firmly around his neck, the other pressing Harry's body close to his. Through the tight t-shirt you could see his bulging muscles. He was not afraid to kill, he knew that his opponent would be dead before he would be. His lips moved fast by Harry's ear. He kept going till I stepped forward only a step. A stupid smile was plastered against his unshaven face. His eyes stood out just like my mothers. The iris that cloudy grey or white and rimmed with black. I had to force myself to blink, my eyes stung from the air. When I looked back, he was gone. Harry just stood there looking at me. My eyes met his and a mix of emotions created dark jagged lines dart around his eyes. He was running at me now, his eyes had turned murderous and I knew they hated me. His whole body shook with frustration and shock. His anger engulfed and swallowed me, I knew that he had come to realise that he hated me. I looked down, but I could not stand to know how fast he was coming at me. His ice cold fingers gripped my chin and forced my head up. Tears escaped my eyes, it scared me to cry. I had not cried in years and the boy I loved made me. There was no pity or forgiveness when he saw these tears. He lifted me and threw me over the clearing, smashing me in to an oak. I heard it groan as my weight a woke it form it's slumber. He came and knelt by me, wiping away some of the tears with a smug smirk across his usually warming smile. He stood and kicked me hard in the stomach, he continued and then threw in some punches. I felt the burn of the scream building in my throat, I refused to let it out just yet. With every punch and kick, it was weighing heavy in my windpipe. He stopped and sniffed. He turned to walk away but swung his leg right into my chest. The scream was forced out through my mouth, I let it free to dance among the trees. A hand wrapped firmly around my mouth, shutting it out from the world.

"Do that again and I will only hurt you more. Got it?" he hissed at me. I nodded weakly but that was not enough for him. His foot walloped right in to my chest. My heart thudded and stopped. I was dead now, I just knew it.

Jacob's POV

My hand flowed along Charlie's feline figure. The purring vibrated through her body making me shudder. I stood and walked out to the dark clearing. The call of the birds lulled me, the sigh of the wind calmed me. I heard a hiss from the bushes and stopped. The whimpering that followed sent me on edge, the silence. I dared not to breathe. I staggered back when I heard the thud of something, it sounded like an elephant falling to the ground. I bent down and snuck my way over to where it came from. Harry stood over something, he was breathing hard. Like he had just been for a run. I snuck my head around him and saw a still body. Soph. I moved back and moved inches closer until I was in the right position. My legs launched me forward like springs, and I fell in to him. Moving him way out of reach from my daughter.

"ELY!" I yelled as I dodged his punches and kicks. She picked him up and dragged him out of my sight.

"Soph, wake up. He's gone now." no response. I laid two fingers to her wrist and then her neck. There was nothing. My hands started to thump on her chest, I needed her to come back. I didn't want to loose my daughter and I wanted to know how to do those moves. I got a soft murmur of her heart and then carried her to the others. Ellise came and looked after her, whilst I went to see that low life. I caught him trying to go after Ely but she had him on the floor with his face in the mud. His legs flailed around, but he could move his hands seen as she was sitting on him acting like it was a seat. I chuckled lightly and i stood on his back, letting her go to Ellise. After about an hour I felt him calm and I stood, keeping a firm eye on him he sat up and looked me in the eye.

"Why mate? You do love her, don't you?" I said looking ashamed. He snarled and started to twitch when I spoke to him about her. He stood up widely and screamed at me.

"She KILLED MY BROTHER!" I put him back on the floor and sat on him just as Ely had done before. I waited until he had calmed again. "I don't know why I did it though." he sighed.

"I don't know either mate."

"What will happen now?"

"I don't know about us, but she is going to die and it's you fault."
