Never Say Never

This is a Harry Styles fanfic, it’s before he was famous so don’t expect him to have people following him around and asking for his autograph and everything. It’s about a girl called Emily and… well you'll find out the rest when you read it!

1. Chapter One

I lay on the floor in my bedroom, reading a book. I heard the door open and saw Harry grinning at me, he looked at the book cover and chuckled.

‘Fifty shades of grey?’ I threw a pillow at him.

‘Did you forget how to knock?’ I kept throwing pillows at him. He was laughing; I’d always loved that laugh.

‘Yes, I did forget’ said Harry, through laughter.

‘Get ouuuuutttt!’ It was embarrassing for him to see me reading this particular book, I was scared he’d think I was a slut or something and that was the last thing I wanted him to think. I’d had a crush on him forever, but we were clearly just best friends, nothing more, and nothing less.

He held his hands up in defeat, ‘Okay, okay! I just thought you might want to know there’s a Justin Bieber interview on!’ I closed my book and got up. I ran past him and down the staircase into the TV room.

Harry had left the TV on the channel showing the interview for me. I heard him coming downstairs laughing.  Hey, what can I say? I’m a Belieber.

He walked into the room and sat down next to me on the couch I was sitting on.

‘Happy I told you?’ He chuckled. I glared at him and then looked back towards the television. ‘Not happy then? You’d rather be reading fifty shades of grey, huh?’ I glared at him again.

‘Shut up’ I snapped, I could feel my cheeks burning with redness.

‘Okay okay, I’ll shut up and let you watch this, but it’s Sunday and you know we both have a ton of homework due tomorrow.’ I almost groaned with annoyance, homework, not just unavoidable and horrible but pointless as well. Harry and I were in the same form and we both had a lot of the same classes, most of our teachers gave us a lot of so-easy-it’s-hard homework.

‘I’ll do it later.’ I shrugged it off and turned back to the television.

‘That’s what you always say Em, but you’re already on tense ground with most teachers, you’ll probably get a detention with Mr Lee if you don’t do another homework.’

I sighed, knowing that Harry was right.

‘Okay, as soon as this has finished we can do homework.’ I said, knowing he probably hadn’t done his either.

Harry had already gotten a detention with almost all of our teachers – some for not doing the homework, some for misbehaving in class. It was generally the second one but still, – So it was a bit hypocritical of him to nag me, but I knew he hated all of those detentions and didn’t want me to have to get them. You’re probably thinking that’s something romantic, but I don’t think it is, it’s just what best friends do.
