7. Excuses, Excuses.

Pulling herself out of Xavier’s black jeep, she threw her school bag over her shoulder and quickly turned back to Xavier, giving him a quick wave goodbye. Heading up the stairs, Xavier’s voice startled her. “Elle, there’s this party this weekend for seniors. You can – ugh – come if you like?” Xavier brushed a hand through his hair, spiking it up. Elle walks back down the stairs and leans through the window smiling, “Sure, I’d love to.”

An awkward silence filled the space around them, as their gazes looked everywhere besides each other. “Elle,” Louis voice howled from the top of the stairs making both, Elle and Xavier, jump. Rubbing her head gently from bumping it on the car, Elle turns towards the house, silently killing Louis a million times in her mind.

“What Louis?”

“Nothing,” he shrugged making her fill with rage. Bending to his right Louis looked into the car setting his gaze onto a familiar face. Anger sprinted through his veins before he muttered through gritted teeth “Hi Xavier.”

“Ugh, just text me the deets,” Elle awkwardly responded to Xavier before giving him a sympathetic smile and making her way back up the stairs. Nudging Louis, she made her way over the threshold throwing her bag into the corner. Louis’ anger was thrown into the door as he slammed it shut before turning on Elle.

“Who the hell do you think you are,” Louis spat.

“Huh?” Elle’s face turned from normal to confused in 0.2 seconds before Louis could continue to shout, “What do you think you’re bloody doing hanging out with that dick! You’re not allowed to see him Elle and you’re definitely not going to that stupid party!”

“You can’t tell me what to do Tomlinson, you may be my fucking step-brother but you don’t control my life,” Elle spat before tears began to swell in her eyes.

It didn’t continue for long before Zayn pulled him back. Zayn guided Louis into the kitchen before Niall came to Elle’s side a tried to guide her up the stairs but she shrugged him off before yelling “I’m going to that party whether you like it or not!” Her voice vibrated through the house easily reaching the kitchen where Louis sat rigid in the wooden chair.

Niall dropped Elle’s bag on her desk while Elle dropped onto the chair, wiping a few tears away. “Elle,” Niall began but Elle was definitely in no mood to talk to anyone anymore. Raising a hand towards him to order him to stop before she spoke, “Niall, I honestly have a lot of homework to do. Can we just talk about it later?” Not making eye contact with him, she reached into her bag and pulled out her science text book, informing Niall that she wasn’t lying and she indeed has heaps of homework.

“Fine Elle, but we will talk about this,” his stern voice rose before he walked out, closing the door behind him.

Scribbling down the last answer, Elle chucked the books back into her bag and made for the bed and rested her eyes. What only felt like minutes, which was actually only minutes did Lottie politely knock on the door before entering the room to mention that dinner was ready. Tonight was the last night the boys were here, before there big tour around America and Elle didn’t want to end it on fighting terms.

Louis re-adjusted his seat as Liam spoke, “We think it’d be best to have someone with great talent but not only wants the opportunity but really needs it Simon. We want to change someone’s life for the better; we just have to find the right person. It may take some time that’s all.”

Simon Cowell rubbed his knuckles resiliently, “This is a big risk Liam. I wanted to have someone for the American tour.”

“I know Simon.” Guilt ran through Liam’s words. He always hated disappointing Simon but he knew what he was doing, hopefully.

“Okay boys, you have to get someone before the Australian tour. That gives you five months. Don’t let me down.” He demanded as he looked at each of them. They were the biggest boy group in the world and sadly their popularity was decreasing as fast it grew only 2 years ago.

After shaking each of their hands and scoring a hug with Niall, he proceeded out of the house, hopefully making the right decision.

Victoria called the household to dinner. Tonight’s meal was filled with roast pork, vegetables and potato. “It’s the boys last night so I made a lovely meal for you all tonight.” George indicated as Elle took a seat between Lottie and Felicite. The boys sauntered into the kitchen, pushing each other playfully till they all found a seat. Elle poked her fork into a bean and easily bit into it before she slightly jumped as something tapped her foot underneath the table. Looking across the table she saw a wide smirk across Harry’s face and she couldn’t help but kick him back.

After a quick gave of footsy with Harry and dinner, everyone gradually began to leave the table. “C’mon Harry,” Louis called as he tucked in his chair.

“I-I’ll catch up with you guys. I have to call mum,” Harry quickly lied, his eyes barely leaving Elle’s. The boys all left and it wasn’t till they heard Louis’ bedroom door close that Elle and Harry swiftly moved up to her room. Quietly, closing the door behind her before Harry’s body pushed against hers. Stuck between him and the door, Elle slowly breathed searching for something in his eyes, a slight sparkle; any indication that what he felt was true but within seconds his lips were around hers as he squished his body slightly against hers. Closing her eyes, Elle already knew this was wrong but she couldn’t control herself, he was intoxicating. She ran a hand through his soft curls and pulled him closer, their lips still joined and moving in sync. Pulling back quickly, she examined the confused boy, “I-I can’t Harry.”

“C’mon Elle, I don’t care if you’re Boo’s sister.” He continued kissing her neck, but Elle continued to pull away.

“That’s not the reason Harry. I-You’re leaving tomorrow going half-way around the world. I don’t know if I could…”

“Don’t worry, we’ll work it out, I promise.” Harry sweetly said as caressed her cheek. Elle smiled widely and she thinks she saw a sparkle somewhere when he looked at her.

Throwing her legs around his waist, they continued kissing. A sweet cinnamon taste spread through Elle’s mouth as she gave Harry access to her mouth. Tongues tangling and Elle’s hands scrambling through his hair, they make their way towards Elle’s bed. Placing Elle softly on the bed, Harry lay on top of her caressing her cheeks as they take a breath. Taking in every crinkle and freckle Harry knew he really liked her and he’s happy he made a move before anyone else.

“I don’t want to use you Elle.” Harry assured her before pecking her nose. Elle squinted at the cute action and rolled onto her side as Harry lay beside her.

“Thank you Harry.”
