1. 1st day of our lives

The day had started out even worse, than I had imagined.
First day of school, always one of the worst days of the year.

Sometimes I caught myself wondering, if there lay a curse over me. Because every year on this day, bad luck hit me and I seemed harassed by some evil being, which only had one intention. To make my life, or at the least this day, a living hell.

On the day that everybody looked forward to seeing new and old friends, and tried their best to impress their surroundings, I was doomed to walk alone and over and over again make a complete fool of myself.

August the twentieth 1998 was no exception. The day started out with me getting up to late. I took on my clothes and had to run to catch the bus. My hair of course looked nothing like it was supposed to after this.

At school the bad luck followed me. I had barely set my feet, dressed in new and very expensive shoes, on school campus when a stray Frisbee hit me from the back. I turned around to see, what had struck me, when I saw to boys running at high speed directly towards me. They had of course not seen me!

After a wage apology followed by muffled laughter from the smallest of the boys, I picked myself up and brushed the worst of the dirt off of my clothes.  I had to take a deep breath, and remind myself, that I just had to get through this one day, before I was able to continue my path towards the school.

This was how I entered the school, the start of an absolutely new chapter of my life, looking like I had an owls nest in my hair, and the chicks had left their droppings all over my clothes.

I was not proud of the way people looked a me, and I tried to make myself invisible to the stares. But despite my efforts, I felt more than one intense stare on my hidden face.

I let my eyes leave the wooden floors in what I had thought, should be an invincible glance. But my eyes got caught by the most intense set of eyes I ever had seen, and I felt the room disappear around me.
