Same Mistakes

Liam’s intense brown eyes snuck another glance towards me while he remained silent. Zayn’s hand on mine seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. The room grew thick in tension, but Zayn didn’t know why. I continued staring at Liam, not knowing how to move on from this point.
“Liam,” asked Zayn. “What’s the matter?”
Liam seemed to jump back into reality and his face came back to life. “What are you talking about?” he said smiling.
I stood frozen as Zayn glanced down at me. I only shrugged my shoulder, pretending I had no idea what was going on, but inside, my emotions were in a whirlwind as I remembered the events that occurred a few years ago.

6. I Already Knew That

Lucy's P.O.V.

Liam sat across from me, his stare watching my every move.

“You know, it’s really weird to eat when someone’s intensely watching you,” I smiled.

Liam smiled, “I’m sorry, it’s just I don’t know what your name is and I've invited you to dinner.”

“Lucy,” I smiled and extended my arm over to him. He laughed and shook my hand.

“Liam Payne,” he said.

“I don’t mean to sound stalker-ish, but I already knew that,” I grinned. He smiled and finally began eating his own food. It was my turn to stare at him. His lush golden brown hair. His intense brown eyes that would occasionally glance at me. To be sitting across from Liam eating hamburgers and fries was more than I could ever wish for. It made me forget about Jake for a while, and I couldn't complain.

Once we were done, Liam paid the bill and we were soon back out into the dark night. It was starting to get quite chilly and was surprised when Liam slipped his sweater around my shoulders. It smelled just like him and I was incredibly thrilled to be wearing it.

“Do you live here in the city, or did you just happen to follow me here?” Liam asked.

We both laughed. “No, I've lived next door in Maryland my whole life, but I come here often to enjoy the night life.”

“So, would you be willing to give me a tour of the city?” his said with such charm that I didn't want to disappoint him.

“Oh Liam, I would love to, but Washington D.C. isn't exactly the place to be when it’s dark,” I smiled.

Liam laughed, “Then we have a date tomorrow.”

I looked back at him, surprised. “Are you serious?”

“Sure, why not? I’ll be staying here for a few more days, and I’d love to see the city,” he said. Words could not describe the way I felt.
