Same Mistakes

Liam’s intense brown eyes snuck another glance towards me while he remained silent. Zayn’s hand on mine seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. The room grew thick in tension, but Zayn didn’t know why. I continued staring at Liam, not knowing how to move on from this point.
“Liam,” asked Zayn. “What’s the matter?”
Liam seemed to jump back into reality and his face came back to life. “What are you talking about?” he said smiling.
I stood frozen as Zayn glanced down at me. I only shrugged my shoulder, pretending I had no idea what was going on, but inside, my emotions were in a whirlwind as I remembered the events that occurred a few years ago.

7. Fill the Void

Liam's P.O.V.

It was almost four in the morning when I heard Harry finally enter the hotel. I heard a girl giggling as he locked the door. They tried to be quiet, but one of them dropped something, sending it crashing to the floor. There was more laughing, and then some shushing. Harry opened and closed the door into his room, and it became obvious what they would do. Meanwhile, I looked down at the girl sleeping next to me, and Danielle suddenly flooded my thoughts.

After her rejection, I stormed out of the house, too furious to say anything else. I had only spoken to her twice since then, once when I returned back to the apartment to grab my stuff, and the other time when she came to tell me she would be leaving on tour with LMFAO. I was shaking with anger to think that she would leave like that, but now I was just so miserable with the fact that we were no longer together. At the moment, Lucy could fill the void Danielle left, but at the end of the day, Danielle still wasn’t in my arms.

Lucy and I had made love a few times and I couldn’t complain. She was good in bed and had momentarily made me forget about Danielle. But now as Lucy’s steady breathing merged into the quiet sky outside, I was left with my thoughts, and boy, were they depressing.

I remembered that Lucy would show me around the city tomorrow, but I no longer felt like it. Although I had said I didn’t want to return to England, I was beginning to feel homesick. Honestly, I was ready to order the plane tickets right now so I could return back to London where the rest of the guys were. I know that would upset Lucy, who seemed like a really big fan, but I wasn’t emotionally ready for a tour, let alone another relationship.

But then, Lucy turned around, her gentle face exposing her innocence, and I no longer had the heart to deny that from her.
