Follow Your Heart

~What happens when you love someone too much, that at some point you have to let them go?~
Alexis is the type of girl who has had everything. Her future is laid out in front of her. One night she stumble across no one other than Harry Styles. Falling head over heels, both Harry and Alexis will have to overcome many obstacles to make their relationship work.
In the end though, it is all up to that four letter words that can make or break anything- Fate. Will fate be in favor of Alexis and Harry?

6. Kiss You.

I was so stupid. I was stuck in this little pity party, and I pushed away the thing that I cared for most.

When I reached home I went straight up to my room and sprawled myself on my bed. The only thing that will always love me. Ha.

I sat up abruptly. No more moping around, I said to myself. Quickly I grabbed my phone from my purse that I had slung over my desk chair and dialed the number that I had so desperately wanted to dial for the past 4 hours at the Cafe Latte.

"Hello?" His husky voice rung from the other side.

"Harry.. I wanted to call and say I was sorry."

There was a long pause and I had to check to see if he was still on the phone. Then there was a huff.

"No, don't say your sorry, I shouldn't have acted that way towards you."

I blushed. "Would you like to come over for dinner? My mom is doing the usual, late nights at the office so it would just be us."

Practically hearing him smile he said, "I would love that. What time should I be there?"

"Seven?" That would give me time to cook, and clean myself up.

Harry chuckled. "I'll be there then."

It was all I could do to hold back a squeal. "Okay. Bye, Harry."

Then the line disconnected, and I was left to make dinner. Which I hope I don't screw up.

The aroma of the homemade chili smelled somewhat.. edible.

After I took a quick shower and got dressed, I ran downstairs and rummaged through the pantry until I found something to cook.

I turned on my favorite jams. David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Emblem Three, Imagine Dragons, and most recently One Direction.

Just then my favorite song on their new album Take Me Home, 'Kiss You' came on.

'Oh I just wanna take you anywhere that you like

We can go out any day any night

Baby I'll take you there, take you there

Baby I'll take you there, there'

Then I started humming the next part, while stirring the Chili.

'Oh tell me tell me tell me how to turn your love on   You can get, get anything that you want   Baby just shout it out, shout it out   Baby just shout it out, yeah'

That part sounded so real.. Like Harry was actually in the room with me..

Before I could turn my head and look, someones hands wrapped around my waist, making me squeal like a Guinea pig in danger.

"Shhh.." Harry chuckled, "It's just me love." He leaned down and pecked me on the lips.

The kiss heated quickly, as I spun around to face him. His tongue traced my top and bottom lip, teasing for an entrance. I slightly chuckled, opening my mouth just a bit. Then his warm tongue slipped into my mouth. We stood there for a moment totally encased in each other. Harry was the first to break away. "I think the bottom of your stew might be burning.."

He chuckled as I silently cursed, throwing the lid off the top of the pot, and furiously stirring it.

"I hope it will still be delicious. I couldn't help myself with those lips." I smiled, noticing his cheeks were a bit flushed.

"It's my fault just as yours, if it's not delicious, which I'm sure anything you make is quite tasty." Harry wrapped his arms around me again.

I turned my faced to study his.

"What?" He smiled cheekily, "Your lips were calling to me."

I laughed.

"Harry.... Harry come kiss me.." Harry jokingly mimicked.

I stood on my tip toes and planted a kiss on his lips. "There."

He showed his pearly whites and pecked my lips, before saying. "I'll set the table, Love. Where are the plates?"

I pointed to the cabinet to the right of the sink, then removed the pot from the heat. Harry let go of my waist and moved over to the cabinet, pulling out two dishes.

"I'll get the drinks."

I strode over to my moms wine cabinet. Luckily my mom trusted me enough to have a glass of wine every now in then, so we were in the good to have a bottle. "What kind of wine do you prefer. We have Bordeaux, Reserve, Bull & Dragon: royal, Vintage Alumni, or R. Schlumberger?"

His eyes grew a bit wider. "You do know your wines don't you?"

I chuckled nervously. "Yeah. I learned from the best. My mom is quite the wine enthusiast."

"Well it's very sexy, if i do say so myself." Harry smiled brightly.

Blushing I said, "Thanks. So which one shall you prefer?"

"My favorite pick would have to be Bordeaux, but if you prefer another that's fine. They are all quite tasty."

I pulled the bottle of Bordeaux and two red wine glassed out of the cabinet. "Actually that is my favorite choice, too."

After we finished setting the table we made our plates and sat down.

Like the gentle man that he is, Harry poured my glass.

"Thank you, sir." I giggled.

"Your welcome, Madam." He retorted.

I'd have to admit I am quite nervous.

After a moment of silence, I started an easy conversation, steering it towards his family he had yet to mention.

"My moms name is Anne. My dads name is Des. And my only sibling, my sister Gemma. They would all love you very much." He sighed taking in a spoonful of Chili.

"They all sound wonderful. I'd hope to meet them." I smiled repeating his actions.

"So tell me about your family." Harry said.

I pondered this for a second before responding, I didn't want to hold anything back from Harry. "Well it's just my mom and I. When I was 14 my dad passed away."

Harry dropped his spoon abruptly, then took my hand from across the table. "Lexi..I'm so sorry."

It was all I could do to muster all my strength, to stop myself from spilling the unwanted tears.

My dad and I had been so close and when he died I thought for sure that I was going to die. This led me to  years of depression, and when thinking about those dark times of my life, all I wanted to to was cry. But Harry doesn't need to know how truly messed up I am. He would definitely run then.

"It's okay." I managed to say.

Harry sat there studying my face for a long minute before saying, "Your chili is certainly the best I have ever had. Perhaps our long kiss id just the trick."

I blushed, wanting to melt in my own skin. He was such an expert on changing subjects. And I fancy him because of that. "Thanks."

"My pleasure. And Alexis," Harry started, "I really want to apologize about my actions today at Latte Caffe. I just the thought of someone touching you like that makes me want to-"

I cut him off by raising my hand for him to stop, before he ruined everything. This perfect moment. Before responding, I sucked in a deep shaky breath. "I told you Harry, it's okay."

Harry just looked at me. His green eyes searching my hazel eyes. "It is." My voice came out the opposite of what I was wanting. But the truth was, it wasn't okay. Inside I was a mess of emotions, and it was like Harry could see it all. It made me feel so vulnerable. Harry's humongous hand, clasped over mine.

And with that one simple move. I ruined our whole romantic meal, by breaking down into tears. In an instant Harry was at my side pulling me into his long muscular arms. "Sh.." He cooed.

It had been so long since someone had held me like this. My mother was surely not the touchy sympathetic person. Nor have I ever came close enough to a guy to break down in front front of him.

I coughed clearing my throat. "Harry?"

"Yes, Love?" He nearly sang in my ear.

"I just want you to know that.... That i don't want what we have to end. Ever." My voice was small.

He pushed my hair out of my face and looked into my eyes. "Never ever." Harry whispered. "I promise."
