30. Non-existent

"Niall" I turned to face the direction from where the sound had come from and I eventually identified Liam, standing slightly mournful against the backdrop of the hospital room.

"People have been known to often see someone whose died and is not there when other people are present. It is a known fact that those people are more grieving of the loss and so their mind can stem an aura of the affected being in order to help repair the fractured mind. This is the most likely reason why"

Louis stared hard at Liam as he spoke, accounting each word and relaying them in his thoughts.

"But if Louis was an aura it would mean he was dead which he isn't"

"But the supposed loss still caused your mind to feel fractured and need of repair-"

"Louis must have been there though. He caught Eliana and an aura, not being physical, can't have the power to do such a thing"

Liam shut his mouth tightly, unable to find the words to explain such a thing. Louis stood muttering to himself, deep in thought. Then all of a sudden he spoke out.

"I'm not here now though" He stared at the floor, waiting for some response. I looked at the boys whom I thought would feel as confused as I was. However, their expressions became oddly blank.

"What do you mean you're not here, the boys can see you and so can everyone else..."

"But they're not here either..." Replied Louis.

"Yes they are, I can see them!" My face creased with frustration.

"You're asleep Niall. You need to wake up. You've been out for a long time" Louis' voice began drifting off.

"Wake up mate" I turned to see Zayn hovering beside me with a calm expression plastered onto his face.

I watched as they all joined in a chorus telling me to wake up. Ever increasingly, I grew perturbed and bewildered at what was going on. The voices seemed to fade despite the fact that the boys stood right near me; Harry, Liam and Zayn gazing at me and then Louis, with his face oddly still looking towards the ground. The light was dissipating and then I was suddenly consumed by darkness. Everything was silent and all I could note was the epitome of the dark abyss surrounding my whole existence. I felt as if I was floating in mid-air, the way an astronaut floats, weightless within space. I was light and feathery, nothing more, nothing less.
