The Payne He Left Me

Life had gotten worse for poor Emily. After Liam and the boys left breaking her heart, everything went down hill. She has tattoos and peircings, smokes, cuts all up and down her arms, and sees a counselour twice a month. To top on that, she hates her job at Starbucks, and James got a boyfriend and doesn't see her often. Mostly, she's all alone besides her cat. But when she runs into someone special, what will happen?

20. And I Enjoyed It

Emily's P.O.V

I woke up to any empty tent. I wanted to get up, but I knew Liam was an early riser, and he'd be outside. Oh, what the hell.

I stretched my arms above my head with a yawn. I pulled on some jean shorts and an old white v-neck tee. You could see my black bra through it but I did't care.

I stepped out of the tent to find everybody sitting on the fallen logs, eating breakfast.

"Hey Em! Up for some breakfast?" Harry says, waving me over.  I smile and sit down next to him. Unfortanatetly, it was also next to Liam. He had on a v-neck shirt just like mine, plus he was wearing shorts. How weird, we matched.

Harry hands me a Pop Tart and I laugh. I nibble on it, suddenly feeling self concious.  Harry slings his arm over my shoulders. I give him a small smile and finish my Pop Tart.

Liam's eyes wouldn't look into mine, even if I tried to catch his glance.

I still couldn't believe he said that last night, after all the times he told me he loved me.

"I DON'T!"  Liam's voice rang through my head. While everybody else was engrossed in their own little conversations, I noticed Liam was staring at me. I looked at him, straight into his eyes. He just stared right back. I noticed how beautiful his eyes were... I could just fall into those brown orbs.

I slowly looked away, instead looking at my hands on my lap. Harry noticed I was upset about something and picked up my right hand, placing a small kiss on it. I smiled a half-smile, and he gave me a sympathetic grin.

After breakfast, I decide to take a walk. I pull on my Nikes and I invite everybody but only Zayn, Perrie, Louis, Eleanor, Liam, Caity, and Niall join. So that left Christa and Harry together. Alone. What fun.

We begin to walk and after half an  hour, some people went back. It left me, Louis, Zayn, and Liam.

The four of us walk deeper into the forest. "Hey, Louis and I are going to head back." Zayn says.

"Have fun." Louis whispers in my ear as the two of them leave. I slap him hard on the chest, as he runs away, giggling like a little school girl. I was now alone with Liam. If he tried to talk to me, I swear I'll backhand him.

We walk in silence. Liam pulls off his shirt after fifteen minutes alone with him. Great, just great.

Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach freely, without my permission. He noticed I was jittery and raised his eyebrow, he knew I loved it when he did that. I frown as he smirked at me.

I push back a limb, revealing a waterfall, followed by a large pond. "Wow." I gasp. Liam smiles, and we stare in awe at the fall.

Light shone through a patch in the trees, casting a light ray on the fall. The pond was clear, and you could see the sandy bottom, and the fish that swam through it.

"It's..... amazing." Liam muttered. I smiled and stared at it a moment before turning around and walking back.

"Where are you going?" Liam asked. "Don't talk to me, Liam." I scowled, still walking back. He followed.

"What? Why?"

I swallowed the lump in my throat. "I thought you still loved me." I muttered.

"Look Em, I'm sorry, -"

"Don't call me that!" I snap around, facing him, just centimeteres away.

"I'm sorry. But if I told Christa the truth, she would've hurt you. I'm only protecting you. I still love you." A tear streamed down Liam's face, and I wiped it away. He moved closer to me, and I let him as I reached up, while he leaned down to softly press his lips to mine.

And you know what?

I let him.

And I enjoyed it, too.
