Diva on a mission

Everyone wants rich parents, a big house and lots of pets, right? Mia Johnston has it all and much, much more.
Twelve year old Mia helps her super model mum and sort-of-twin brother to start a fashion career for themselves. For Mia, it's a bumpy journey, but it also proves to be a fun, exciting time.

7. Audition days

Jodie was re hired. She made some calls around, spoke to some people and got some business sorted out. A job was advertised for a shop assistant who’d work the till and help people find sizes etc. After one week of advertising, thirteen people aplied for the job. Each applicant seemed capable enough for the job at hand.
Emeli wanted to hold simple interviews with basic questions, but Mia -who was now very excited with the concept of having her own fashion label, and thought this would be a great way to find her feet in the fashin industry at a young age, - had other ideas. She proposed  they invite each one of the candidates along, and ask some friends to act as tricky customers, just to see how they handle tough situations.
Tom asked the two other local paperboys to come along and help out. They both seemed to have some sort of fashionable knowledge, and would do anything for a 10% store discount card.
Mia asked her fashion-conscious, fan girl friends Kaylee and Cait.
Emeli’s friend with a newborn baby boy also agreed, as did Jodie the agent.
Seeing as the shop was not open and lines were still in production, Pauline gave her authorization to use the store after and before closing hours, for a small charge.
On September 19th, the first five contestants took part. One was almost half an hour late; another had the appearance of a homeless dog. The third did not have as much enthusiasm as the fourth, but the fifth, wow!
He was well groomed, and flawlessly tanned, his aftershave smelt expensive, but not overpoweringly rich and his clothes were to die for! On the ‘audition’ day, he wore a plain white v-neck tee under a blazer and dark wash jeans. Both Mia an Emeli’s friends fell for him instantly, they acted like squeamish children around him, worse than a celebrity obsession!
Tom found it all rather childish and pathetic, but after days two and three of meetings, everyone was in agreement that applicant five was by far the best.
His name was Liam, and had his strike of luck when this job came up as it was the first he’d ever applied for after his sixteenth birthday on August 29th. Liam had originally wanted to fly across the world to America, specifically California, and become a Hollister model. Mia felt pitty for him because she’d already starred in their sister brand cateloge, even though she was three years younger than him. In her head, she made a mental note to put in a good word for him, after all, he did seem commendable of modelling. None the less, by working at their store he’d earn more cash to fly out to America, and he’d earn experience for his CV.
