Tasteless In McBridle

After graduating from college and no job, I decided to take a trip to visit a part of my family in another country. It was a 12hrs flight from the city where I lived to their tiny town. I was ready for it and the adventure begins right from my rundown apartment in the busy side of the city.

4. What Now.

I had stopped by the way to grab some brunch and a chilled drink. I didn't want to go back to the apartment. The weather was hot, and the apartmet I'm sure will be hotter. The air condition wasn't working. In all, I just didn't want to feel miserable. I drove around until I got to the park. I just stayed in the car with the engine running as I ate my brunch. There was a lot on my mind, but I just didn't want to think.

As I sat there munching away, my cellphone rang. It was my cousin Katy. It had really been a while since I heard from her. The last time we saw was when she came down for my graduation. I was excited to speak to her on a day like this.

Kat. Heyyy

Hey Ella, how are you?

 Kat. I'm not so good.

What's wrong?

I got laid off today.

Uuuuuggg. That sucks. I never trusted that boss of yours.

Hahahaha. He's Mr. Joe. What do you expect.

Well, I was gonna ask if will be able to come to Uncle Carl' wedding anniversary. I guess you will.

Uncle Carl? He lives miles away.

I know that's the fun. We will be taking a trip. The other option would have been you taking a two week k from your boss. But now, you don't have to. You need a break from all the stress. Since Jason broke up with me, I've been thinking of a vacation to ease my mind.

She was right, I needed a break. Just what I needed.

Aunt Viv called mom and invited us. It's gonna be a week long celebration. How much fun could that be?

That's real fun Kat. I'm getting excited now.

I know.

We've got days to plan for the trip. I don't think we have to miss this chance for fun.

No, I don't think so.

Well, I got to go now Ella. Give me a call whenever.

Ok Kat. Talk to you later.

I was really excited by the time the call ended. Only problem was the fact that I had bills to pay, and after that I wasn't sure if I could afford that type of trip outside the country. It was impromptu. Yes. But it was just what I needed at this point in my life. I was all smiles as I drove away from the park.
