4. A first time for everything (Edward's p.o.v)

I’d rehearsed it a thousand times before in my head, before actually having the means to say something to Bella. She had always been rather curious after all, which explains her attraction to me, so of course I would need an appropriate alibi if she began to ask any questions in return. She was rather brilliant, so of course I try to be as well, in return. With a smile on my face, I put my face to the oak door.

“ Bella, are you almost ready?” I asked, listening to her rustling around in her room in a bit of a frenzy, much to my amusement.

“ Yeah… I um… ouch” I heard her say as I heard a thud and some random items crashing to the ground.

My face quickly turned to concern “ Bella, are you okay? Look, I’m coming in!” I said my hand already on the door knob.. In which she had already obviously expected. Her face peeked out the door really quick, a smile stretched across her beautifully sculpted pale face.

“ Edward, I.. I’m fine.. Really! I just…tripped over something, that’s all! I’ll be out in just a second!” She said stammering over her words, I leaned in to sneak a quick kiss from her warm silk lips, with a smirk she quickly closed the door in my face. How badly I ached for her lips. I leaned against the doorway, my arms folded and my back against the door frame when within just minutes, Bella walked out of her room. She looked stunningly beautiful, absolutely astonishing, her hair had been made to be in ringlets of her strawberry-chocolate hair, her lips had a tinge of pink and looked so remarkably inviting, her cheek bones looked as if to have a splash of strawberry wine upon them. She had been wearing a dress that crisscrossed up the back, revealing massive amounts of her warm vivacious flesh. She had looked to be rather frazzled.

“ Ugh, I can’t seem to tie these darn strings. It’s no use!” She said fumbling around behind her back to tie the strings unsuccessfully.

A smile crept across my face in her desperate attempts.

“Here, let me!” I insisted as I gently took her by her arm and spun her around so that her back faced towards me. She swept her hair to one side. Eyeing her warm radiating skin, I then tied the back of her dress with no further complications. Stepping closer, as I held her against me, I ran my finger tips up her arms lightly, stopping at her shoulders, I gently brushed my lips against her shoulder. My throat burned, my mouth was dry.. I fought the urge. Quickly taking a deep breath, careful not to breathe in. She placed her hand on mine, as she slowly turned around to face me, her eyes on my lips, then up to meet my loving gaze. I placed my hand on her cheek as she closed her eyes and concentrated on my touch, her breathing slow and relaxed, I listened to her heart beat in her chest as if to be my very own song, I then closed my eyes as well as my lips drew closer and I could feel her breath upon my lips, after pausing, I leaned forward a bit more until finally our lips met, moving in perfect synchronization. It felt as if to be kissing a delicate rose. Kissing her passionately, my body surged with electricity. I then pulled away mid kiss, as I could not lose control, I could not allow us to get carried away with our obvious physical attraction to one another. We’d both grown quite accustom to this sort of ending. Breathing heavy she covered her mouth with the back of her hand.

“I’m sorry!” She breathlessly apologized.

“ Well you shouldn’t be! Because I’m not. There’s a time and place for everything Bella. I just know that now isn’t it!” I re-assured her. As I helped guide her coat on her.

“ I suppose!” She agreed following my lead as I opened the door for her and led her to my car, opening the door to my car.

“ By the way, I must say the moon looks absolutely nothing in the presence of you tonight. You look.. Well… perfect! .. Good thing I don’t have the need to breathe, because I’d have already forgotten how to by now!” I smiled at her in awe .

“Now.., do you trust me?” I asked her putting good faith in the fact that she did just the same as I trusted her. I trusted her with every ounce of my being. My Bella would never do anything to intentionally harm me or anyone that she loved. Such a selfless and sweet girl. How lucky I am to be a man with such a deep love and for that love to be returned just the same

“ Of course I.. I trust you. What is this about?” she asked, concern in her voice.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out an old handkerchief

“well then, this won’t be hard at all!” I said as I guided it over her eyes and tied it.

“Edward, what exactly do you have in mind?” she asked nervously.

“Don’t worry, you shall see!” I said smugly.

I got into the car and sped to my house. Not entirely escaping a few interrogating questions of course. When we had reached my house, I took her hand and guided her into my house, into the dining room. Where I’d set up a table for us, a white table cloth draped over it with fine wine and rose petals scattered everywhere. The candle light dancing across the walls.

“wait here just a moment!” I insisted. As I sped off quickly and changed into a tux in a timely manner.

Once I had returned, I then untied the handkerchief as it slid off the bridge of her nose. She gasped as her mouth dropped.

“ Edward, wow, it.. It’s beautiful!” She said in disbelief.

A smile stretched across my ashen face as I then pulled her chair out and seated her at the table, pouring her Champaign glass with red wine, admiring the way the candles lit her face creating a warm luminous glow about her.

“ what is this about anyways Edward? I mean.. why are you doing all this? Why now?” she asked a bit confused.

“ Because, I realize I’d never officially taken you on a date! And yet, somehow I already know, you’re the girl I’m going to spend the rest of eternity with!” I said laughing embarrassingly
