Right Here, Right Now

"Then I would take that star and make my wish come true."
My name is Olivia Carsons, and the past week has been pretty crazy for me. I met my favorite boy band, One Direction, I started dating Niall, and, well, too much happened. Even the worst thing, us finding out that my foster mother has cancer, has happened. But there is one thing that I fear. Niall and Louis, my childhood friend, still don't know that I promised to go with them to the Canfield Fair. If this can get any worse, what will happen if they find out? Does Louis have feelings for me? Do I have feelings for both of them? It all depends on what happens at the fair. (Second installment of The Start of Something New trilogy)

17. Driving home and surprise

<Olivia POV>

"Well...you see..." I start. Should I tell him about me and Louis? I can't. I love him so much I don't want to ruin our relationship. He just saved me from death. Well, I warned him so technically it was me who saved us from going to take a visit to see my parents. But I can't tell him. It will break his fragile heart and it's just...Snap out of it Liv! If you tell him, it will get it off your back. But it could possibly ruin your friendship with Louis, and I don't want that to happen. Ugh! This is why I'm not ready to become an adult.

"You see, I...uhhh...you know what? I forgot what I was going to say. Hopefully it will come back later." I lie.

"Okay." Is all he said and we kept driving. When we were about a quarter of a mile to the house, he stopped. "Now, it's your turn to drive."

"At 4 in the morning?!" I question, "You got to be kidding me!"

"Nope." He replied as he got out of the car and I shifted over to the driver's seat like I would use to do when I was little and Annita would take me to get gas.

"Niall, if I die here, I'll haunt your Irish spirit for the rest of your life." I taunt while buckling my seatbelt.

"Okay. So now just put it into drive." He instructs me. I do what I was told, and then I press on the gas.

"I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I am going to die." I said to myself.

"What did you say?" Niall asked.

"Nothing." I answer keeping my eyes on the road. I was actually doing well for my first time driving. Why didn't I drive like this two years ago when I was going to take my driver's test?

"We're almost there. Keep it up." He encourages me. I keep calm and just keep on driving. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming-wait, driving. Just keep driving. Please let the motivational words that Ellen Degenerees used as Dori help me through these next few minutes.

Finally, without any injuries, we made it back to the house.

"I did it!" I cheer. "I drove without any problems!"

"You did great." Niall said as he kissed the top of my nose. We got out of the car and I tossed him his keys. "Hey, do you mind waiting out here for a moment?" He asked me.

"Uhh...sure." I answer. He ran inside leaving me in the dusk of the morning. What if a kidnapper came and took me away? That's what I use to think as a little girl, but I don't believe in that anymore.

"You can come in!" He yelled from the front door. Thank god I was freezing out here. I ran to the front door wanting to get out of this weather. When I got inside I heard a loud "SURPRISE!" that made me jump at first, but then put a smile on my face.

Author's note: This was a bad chapter, but I have a busy week ahead. I have tryouts this week like after school, but if I can, I'll try to update stories. Just don't count on that. That's all. ~Maddie
