57. She's Back

Ever since the last live show, all I had done was think about Niall. His eyes. His smile. His Voice. The last look I saw on his face as tears streamed from my eyes and I ran away from him for the last time. Any contact with him was avoided, as usual. After the show, Cher had tried to talk to me multiple times until Misha finally told her to just leave me alone because I obviously didn't want to talk to her and since that moment, Misha and Janet were my everything. They were constantly with me, checking on me to make sure I was okay because after everything they did for me, I finally decided I should tell them what happened with Cher, Niall, and myself.

Jade, however, was obviously upset with me because after snapping at her before the show and not telling her anything, she felt shut out. Great…losing one of my best friends again. How perfect. For the first time in forever I thought of Missy. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t talked to her in so long. I even ignored her, my once best friend now nothing.

"Knock Knock," A voice cooed as I laughed with a few of my dancers for this week. We had just gone through a grueling 3 hour practice where I had to learn choreography. It was simple yet so hard at the same time but luckily, my choreographer was always nice and helped me with everything as well as the dancers.

"Kelly!" I squealed when her head peeked in. I hopped onto my feet as Kelly stepped into the room with a smile on her face. I ran to her, throwing my arms around her tightly. She returned the hug instantly, squeezing me into her arms and then she pulled back to look at me, placing her hands on each one of my cheeks, smiling happily at me.

"You, my dear, are incredible. You did fantastic this week, just like you always do. I'm so proud of you," She smiled. I smiled, letting out a relieved laugh. I hadn't spoken to Kelly since she told me she was sick so picking a song, learning it, rehearsing and everything was all done without my mentor. Alexandra was great, don't get me wrong, but she wasn't Kelly. She didn't give me the same sense of comfort that I got with my mentor. So when Kelly told me I did well and that she was proud of me, a feeling of pride and confidence overcame me because I knew I did her good.

"I missed you. It was so hard without you," I admitted.

"I missed you too, baby but you did so good and look, I'm here now. Today isn't even a mentor day but I had to come see my girls," She smiled, squeezing my arms lovingly before looking over my shoulder at the dancers and James, my choreographer, "So what have you got down so far?"

"She's got it almost completely perfect. 3 hours has done her well," James said with a proud smile as Kelly and I walked over to them. One of the dancers, Will threw his arm over my shoulders in a friendly manner, shaking my shoulders with a smile, making me laugh as I bumped Fiona's fist.

"Awesome. I want to see it," Kelly smiled, clapping her hands together. Instantly I felt the familiar nervous feeling form in the pit of my stomach. Yes, I almost knew the dance by heart but if I messed up, I was messing up in front of Kelly. Yeah, she's my mentor but still, it's also Kelly Rowland. It was nothing new. I always felt this way but I was also comfortable at the same time. The sme feeling I always had when I was with Niall. My dancers all assembled around me as I grabbed the fake microphone I had to use for rehearsals.

"Take it from the top," James confirmed as we all looked to him. He jogged over to the radio, ready to hit 'play' and as he did, I heard the beginning notes of LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem begin aka my song for this week's 'dance thriller' theme.

"That was awesome. I can't wait for you to perform it, Briana. It was incredible. Good job everyone. The dance was so amazing and wow," Kelly said breathlessly, eyes wide with awe. We all laughed and some of the dancers patted me on the back and wrapped their arms around me. I bounded over to Kelly after hugging everyone. Kelly wrapped her arm around my shoulders after I got my bag. I waved a goodbye to everyone and we headed out, Kelly squeezing my shoulder excitedly.
