This is a Stand Up

Briana Hill is a normal girl, except for the fact that she is neighbors with Liam Payne from a new boy band called One Direction. When Liam brings the band back to stay with him for a while, Briana ends up falling in love with one of the boys. This is the love story of the ordinary girl and th boy band star.

68. Incredible

Briana? Where's Briana? Who has seen Br-"

"Haven't seen her."

"Cheeky girl. Let's get a move on, darling. I have to get you to the stage. Your VT is about to start," I was surrounded by tons of crew members, being ushered to the side stage, a microphone thrusted into my hands. I bit my lip, hoping whatever lip substance Lou put on them this week wouldn't come off on my teeth. My eyes casted up towards the screen that played my VT with the introductory X Factor music.

"I literally cannot believe I'm still here," My face appeared on the screen, "I did not even think I'd make it through the first week."

"Briana's got incredible talent. I've said it day 1 since her audition. She's got the voice. She's got the looks. She's got the personality. She's like-able. People love her. I think she's got a real shot at winning this competition," Gary admitted as it showed him backstage. Immediately I smiled, putting my hand to my cheek in surprise. Gary was such a gentleman. I felt two hands press to my back and turned to see one of the crew members pushing me onto the stage. That's when my nerves twisted as usual.

My butterflies increased to 110%. My palms got sweaty. My vision blurred as I got light-headed. I felt my skin get prickly underneath some lights that already shone on the pitch-black stage that would conceal my presence until it needed to be seen on national television. National live television. I stood in my designated spot, taking a deep breath like I always did, closing my eyes as I reminded myself why I was here and that I could do it. And just like always, I opened my eyes with relief, realizing that this was what I wanted to do with my life and that I was living out my dream.

"Briana Hill," The announcer's voice echoed through the arena and I was greeted by screams as all the lights shot on, blinding me but my eyes stayed open and a smile found its way onto my face and it wasn't a fake one that I gave everyone when they asked if I was alright. This was genuine. This was what I loved doing.

"There ain't a reason you and me should be alone tonight, yeah baby, tonight, yeah baby," And with that, I sang my heart out to Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory'. I was met with piercing screams and cheering when I finished singing and I couldn't fight the smile as I looked out at the bouncing crowd. People held up signs. Some were for me, some were for the others and they were all so kind and thoughtful. My attention was torn from the crowd to Louis as he began shouting over the crowd that still hadn't shut up even when he tried talking. He was waving his pen around, pointing it at me as he began to speak.

"Briana, wow! What an incredible performance! The thing about you is that you've got everything going for you! You've got the voice, Miss Hill. You have the voice that's going to sell records. A voice that's going to have you sell out arenas all over the world. You are talented and I think you have a chance of winning this competition!" Louis cheered and the screaming that had settled a bit immediately started again but Tulisa started talking anyways.

"Sweetheart, you know I love you! I enjoyed your performance. Everything about it was spot on. The dancing, the vocals. You did absolutely fantastic tonight, Briana. I think it was one of your best performances yet," Tulisa commented and the crowd whooped at that before they continued down the line to Gary, skipping over my beaming mentor.

"Briana, I just have to say.." Gary trailed off as the crowd began to settle yet yelling things at the same time, "That was your best performance yet," He informed and the crowd screamed in agreement, making me smile and bite my lip, saying a thank you that I knew he couldn't hear but he could see, "I always love watching you perform because you always bring something new. That's what I love about you, sweetpea. Every week, you change it up. You're unpredictable and that's what people want. You did incredible, darling. Keep it up."

"Briana, my baby!" Kelly cheered over the crowd. I laughed, smiling at her, "I say it all the time and I mean it every time I say it. I am so proud of you. You have come so far. You are absolutely amazing. I feel like a proud mother and no doubt, I'm sure your momma is so proud of you! Sweetheart, you never let me down. I know you're going to go so far in this competition. Just look how many people out here love you!" She then pointed to the crowd who cheered and I smiled.

"Briana!" A new voice greeted and I turned to smile as he neared me. I had grown to love the Dermot O'Leary smile. It was heart-warming and made me feel tingly inside or maybe that was just how amazingly good looking Dermot was, "Incredible performance. How do you feel?"

"Completely speechless," I admitted and he chuckled as cheers broke out across the arena.

"That's what I like to hear," Dermot chuckled and turned to the cameras, "To keep Briana here for next week, vote for her. The numbers for the acts will be revealed after all of the acts have performed, but for now, that was Briana Hill!"
