33. Heartbreak

In the week between the first live shows to the second show, a majority of my time was spent rehearsing. This week's theme was Love and Heartbreak so thankfully, Kelly didn't want me to dance so I had no routine to try to memorize while also learning lyrics. Kelly didn't help me at all pick a song this week. She told me that she trusted me to make the right decision because she couldn't give me a song to sing about this kind of topic.

"You decide if what state your heart is in and you let that do the singing for you," She had said.

The state of my heart…broken. This week was hard. Jade devoted an entire night to me, just listening to me as I told her a story about a boy who had broken my heart. I never mentioned a name though. Not once mentioning that it was Niall Horan, 1/5 of One Direction that had crushed my trust when I found him all snuggled up on a bench with some brown haired stranger whom I was later informed was Cher Lloyd. How wonderfully ironic.

Without Jade, I probably would've been wallowing in my hurt pride, eating ice cream and crying all night in my room but she had told me that so far, I didn't even show that I was broken inside. I guess the fact that I was living out my dreams kind of hid the fact I was still heartbroken but I saw the look in Jade's eyes when the week went on. How she noticed that this week of Heartbreak and Love wasn't something I wanted to handle.

"You're amazing, babe. Don't let anybody bring you down this week. This is your time, okay? Do what you love. Sing your heart out," Only a few soothing words Alex had said to me on the phone. She had given me a reality check, reminding me that I wasn't there to sing a song about my heart being broken.

Well while I'm over here complaining, yes, my life is going pretty well around here. Rehearsals were still killer but I had been with Kelly about 27 hours a day. Was there 24 hours in a day? No. My entire time was devoted to this week's performance. Kelly had ended up loving my song choice and said my voice was very versatile and it would flow with the song well.

"Briana, are you ready?" Misha questioned, peeking her head into my room. I smiled, nodding at her as I took one last look in the mirror. Janet, Misha, and I were going out for the night. We decided that being in the same category and all this yadda yadda, we should make the best of it. We decided to go out to eat and to a show to get our minds off the pressure.
