It's gotta be Lou

When memories flow into Amber's mind, things go awry and she is forced to tell the truth about her true self to the boy she grew up loving... Louis Tomlinson, who is now famous and doesn't remember her until she reminded him of something. Amber went from the next door neighbor to his biggest crush to his secret admirer to his best friend's girlfriend. He shouldn't feel that way, and neither should she.... Or should they? (Contains cursing)

16. It's a best friend thing

Chapter sixteen

***********Amber's POV*****************

I step out of the limo, straightening my clothes and picking Carson up. There were flashes all around us as we walked up the steps to my mothers house, I walked in to see my mum standing there yelling at my younger brother, Alex.

"Mum, what's wrong?" I said loudly, interrupting her loud words.

"Your brother managed to fail one test, but his girlfriend passed one," mum glared.

"Which test did he fail?"

"His English final. He takes it again next week. His girlfriend, though, passed her pregnancy test," mum started yelling again.

"Alex, just go up to your room. I'll be up there in a second to talk to you. Niall, will you take Carson out to the swing set?" I commanded.

"Mum, you didn't yell at me when I was pregnant. Or Niall," I said, as Niall, Alex, and Carson left the room.

"That's different, honey. Your twenty. He's sixteen. His girlfriend is fifteen," Mum declared.

"So, maybe it's not his fault. The condom broke, or she forgot to take the pill," I said, thinking of possibilities.

"If you think you'd be ready to have your brother a father at this age, go talk to him." Mum glared at me for defending him. I went up the stairs and went to Alex's room. I opened the door and gently closed it behind me.

"I didn't do it, Am.," he sobbed, as I hugged him.

"I'm a virgin, Amber. The kid isn't mine," he managed to get out.

"Good. I'm glad you're a virgin. Keep it that way," I icily smiled at the wall.

"Will you explain that to Mum and Dad?" Alex wiped his eyes.

"Yeah. Do you want to come with me?" I asked, gently, looking at him.

"No, I'll stay up here," he said. I nodded and exited the room.

"Mum! You didn't even listen to him!" I yelled at her, when I came into the sitting room to see her watching tv, cuddling with Daddy.

"What lie did he tell you?"  Mum spat out.

"He's a virgin, mum. The baby isn't his," I yelled.

"I don't care what he is. Virgin or not, his girlfriend is knocked up so he's getting kicked out," Mum glared at me for sticking up for him again.

"I'll take him in my own care with Carson then," I said, heading upstairs.

"Alex, start packing your stuff. You're moving into my place, where you'll be treated right." I stated, pulling out some boxes. He sighed, and started helping me. My phone rang.

"Hey Amber.. Why haven't you come home yet?" Lou asked.

"Oh um, I came to visit my Mum with Carson. Um, Lou, I have a giant favor to ask," I chewed my lip.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Do you think it might be okay if Alex came and stayed with us until I find a place for us to live?"

"I don't mind. You gonna explain when you get over here?"

"Yes I will. Thanks Lou,"

"No problem, babe. See you in a few," he hung up.

"Are we all done in here? I have a family member coming over for a few months," mum popped her head in.

"Just finishing up. You can wait," I glared, putting some football (soccer) trophies in a box. Alex was folding the clothes and putting them in one of the bigger boxes. I closed the boxes up and carried them downstairs with the help of Alex. I carried them over to Lou's place and put them in an empty room. I trekked across the yards again to see Mum begging Alex to stay.

"No way, mum, you kicked me out so I'll get out. Go PMS on someone else," he said, rudely.

I carried the rest of the boxes to the house and helped him unpack.

"Thank you, Lou." I hugged him around the neck.

"You owe me an explanation." He pointed out to me.

"His girlfriend is pregnant and mum doesn't believe that he still has his V-card," I sighed heavily.

"Ooh, not good," he cringed. I agreed and walked away. He grabbed my hand.

"Amber. Do you wanna go to the mall with me?" He asked, his eyes pleading.

"Yeah, what're we getting?"

"It's a best friend thing. Only I get to know," he grinned.

"Okay?" I said confused.
