Not Your Typical Cinderella

(One Direction not famous)

When Rose was only 7, her mom passed away. Her dad got remarried to Cheryl three years later. Rose feels it in her heart that Cheryl only loves her dad for his money. She treats her stepdaughter Rose terribly and favors her own daughter, Julia much more. When something tragic happens to her dad on her 17th birthday, Rose is desperate to prove, along with her friends Shannon, Ava, and Griffen, that it was all Cheryl's fault. Little does she know that along the way, she will meet new people, fall in love, and get her heart broken.

5. Sunday

On Sunday, Cheryl and Julia decided to go out for another one of their "shopping sprees". Of course, my dad was working all day, like always. The reason that Cheryl and Julia had money to blow was because of him. It made me so angry that Cheryl just sat on her ass all day and spent my dad's money. What calmed me down was that I finally had some alone time, with nobody telling me to do anything for the whole day. Except for the fact that I was left with a long list of groceries I needed to buy.

I decided I should probably get that over with first, so I could call up Ava, Shannon, and Griffen to see if they wanted to do something because I had a free day. I took my car, which was my 16th birthday present (from my dad of course), and made my way to the local grocery store. It took me about an hour to collect all of the items on the extreme list and even longer to bring them back to the house and unload them. By the time I was done, it was already past lunch time and my arms were sore. This was probably her hidden consequence for going to that party. And I hated Cheryl even more, if that was even possible.

I made my self a sandwich, and was literally about to bite into it when my phone rang. It was a number that I didn't have in my contacts. When I picked up, I heard a familiar raspy voice.

            "Rose?" It asked.

"Who is this?" I replied, even though I totally knew who it was.

"How did you get my number?!?" I questioned.

"Shannon gave it to me," he answered slowly, "I just wanted to know if I could take you out for dinner tonight,"

I wanted to go so bad. But I knew I couldn't. Cheryl and Julia would be back around dinner time. "Sorry Harry, I can't tonight."

"Would you EVER want to go out to dinner with me?" The voice sounded even slower and upset.

"I don't know. I have to go, Harry," I didn't have to go, but this conversation was getting awkward.

"Wait! One more thing!" He stopped me from hanging up.

"I have your purse. You dropped it at the party. Will you tell me where you live so I can drop it off?" He sounded hopeful.

"It's okay. It's nothing important. Bye, Harry," I hung up before he could say anything more and make me feel any worse about myself. I wished so bad I that I could just go out with him, but it just wouldn't work out with my situation. I texted the girls and invited them over.

I hung up, my heart still beating out of my chest. I couldn't believe it! How was she not interested in me? All girls were! And of course- the one I can't have is the one I want the most. I wish she would just give me a chance.

"So, sounds like it didn't go too well," Niall said, patting my back. All 5 of us were sitting around the TV, and Liam muted it for us just so I could call Rose. Now they all seemed lost at words. This didn't normally happen to any of us, apparently we were all pretty good looking guys.

"Just go for one of her friends!" Louis said. Every single one of us flat out said NO! I knew I wanted to be with Rose, and I know that Zayn, Niall, and Liam have feelings for her friends already. Niall and Zayn still need to figure out whether they like Griffen or Ava, but I know for sure that Liam likes Shannon. They had been texting like crazy ever since Friday night.

"I-I just can't do that. I'm gonna go for a walk," I got up off the couch, put on my shoes, and stepped out into the fresh London air. I needed time to clear my mind, and try to get Rose out of my head. I had to admit to myself that Rose didn't want me and that I needed to move on. I was walking through the neighborhood a couple streets down from my flat when I saw Rose's friends piling out of a car in front of the biggest house I had ever seen!

"Hey! Shannon!" I called to them before they could enter the huge house. They all turned around at the same time, and instantly I could see a huge smile on all of their faces. I ran across the street to them. Shannon gave me a huge hug and then asked me if I called Rose yet.

"Actually, I just did. I asked her out and she completely turned me down,' all of their smiles faded, like they were expecting her to say yes.

"I promise...she's totally into you. She told me. She just has, family issues right now. But keep trying. She'll crack," Griffen said to him, trying to make him feel better.

"Which one of your houses is this?" I asked them.

               "It's actually Rose's," Ava replied.

My eyes probably widened. I felt like a stalker, but now I could at least give Rose her purse back. And hopefully it would give me a reason to talk to her, and get her to like me again. I would do anything to be able to look into her blue eyes, like I did that Friday night. I talked to the girls for a couple more minutes, resisting the voice in my head that was telling me to ask them if I could come inside to talk to her. I didn't think that right now would be a good time for that.

After talking to Harry, I had an amazing idea! I texted Niall to tell him to tell the rest of the boys what my plan was. I didn't care about the obstacles...Rose WAS going to go out with Harry tonight.
