Do I Have What It Takes?

I am trying out for the M Factor this summer. I am so nervous? Do I have what it takes to win? To even make it past the judges houses? Do I even have what it takes to win the first round... All of these questions are running through my mind, and right now, is now or never.

My POV

Today is the day. Today is the day, Paige. I keep thinking that statement over and over in my head. Will I make it through? Will they like me? Am I good enough? All these questions keep racing through my mind at one hundered miles an hour. I am terrifed, shaking like a leaf at side stage. I can barely move my feet as I pace back and forth singing the words to 'Stars' by Grace Potter and the Noctournals to myself softly. "Paige Laughlin to the stage!" The intercome practically yells in my ear. There is no one here except my brother George for me today. I dont have any friends. I took a deep breath, and started walking to center stage. The bright lights blinding me, and sweat practically pouring out of me. I could hear nothing but the sound of my own heart beating in my chest.

"Hello! What is your name, and tell us a little about you." Katy Perry said to me, suddenly pulling me from my deep thoughts. "My name is Paige Laughlin, I am 15 and I am from London. I am a sophomore in highschool, and my older brother is here with me today." I said slowly. Simon asked again, "What will you be singing?" She said, not looking up from his paper on the desk below. "Stars, by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals." I exclaimed. "Begin." Simon said briefly. The music slowly started, as I gripped the microphone in front of me with everything I had. "I light a fire with the love you left behind, and it burned wild, and crept up the mountain side." I began singing with everything that I had. I began to get more comfortable with myself, and I began to sing louder, and then gave it everything I had. "I cant look at the stars, they make me wonder where you are..." after i had finished that line, the music had stopped, and I had stopped singing with it. Simon was looking at me now, and Katy Perry was beding over whispering in his ear. "Well, this is a equal decision. We all think that you are not..." My heart started to beat louder and louder, "ready to go home yet! Welcome to the competition Paige!" Katy Perry said. I cupped my mouth, and started to cry. "Thank you so much. You have no idea how hard I worked for this. Thank you thank you thank you!" I screamed into the microphone. While exiting the stage, I was handed a big ticket, and then I ran into Georges arms.

"You were amazing Paige!" He said in my ear, as he twirled me around. When he put me down, a girl about my age came down the stairs. She had blonde hair , and huge brown eyes. She was my age, and had on a pair of dark skinny jeans and a light t-shirt. "I just wanted to say that you did amazing, and I hope I will be seeing you again, that is because I made it through too!" She laughed. "My name is Perrie Edwards, and you are Paige. You did amazing." she pulled me in for a hug. "Thank you, you were too. I watched your performance earlier. I loved your version of The A Team by Ed Sheeran." I said. She smiled at me. "Well, I have got to get going. See you soon hopefully!" She screamed back as she ran to her parents, hugging them over and over again. I smiled, I might have just made a friend. George was holding me by my waist, leading me off to the car. We hopped in, heading to the hotel, me gripping the ticket in my hand tightly. I made it through to bootcamp, and I am so not ready. Me and George had eaten dinner, and then headed to bed. We had to get an early start in the morning, because I had to be back at the stage at 5 in the morning. I quickly fell asleep dreaming of what it would be like if I won the whole competition.
