The Storybook of Magical Happenings

Annie, Avery and John get pulled into a magical storybook and have to fight dragons, goblins, witches, and more!

5. The wolfman

Natalie approached us, a look of fake terror had made it's way to her face. When she noticed Jack standing there, real terror spread through her body. She pretended not to know who he was but all throughout the night she kept glaring nervously at Jack. When Avery and John had fallen asleep, I decide to lay down on the grass and pretend to sleep when I was really listening to Natale and Jack talking.

"Why are you here?" Natalie whispered loudly.

"The Mogan parents found out you were taking care of their children. They asked me if I would come over and make sure they were safe but you and Igor created a torado trying to kill me!" Jack replied.

"We weren't trying to kill you we were trying to kill Annie! I hate that girl and didn't want to see her ever again!" Natalie said.

"The Morgans will hear about this!" Jack threatened.

"Well I guess I'm going to be off then." It was silent for a moment, then I heard a car door close and Natalie's voice screaming, "I'll be back!" Then she disappeared into the darkness. Jack stood there for a minute, then came over to me. He bent down and I felt his lips touch my forehead for a brief second, then he whispered something in my ear.

"Sorry," he whispered, "be safe." At first I didn't know why he was saying this but when I heard footsteps on the gravel, I knew Jack was leaving. I sat bolt upright and rushed over to Jack. I grabbed his arm and pulled as hard as I could but it was no use, he was too strong for me.

"Jack please-" I didn't get to finish, because Jack covered my mouth. "Jack?"

"Shhh, it's a Wolfman." he said so quietly, I had to lean in to hear him.

"What's a Wolfman?" I whispered.

"I'll tell you after." I had no idea what Jack was talking about, until I saw a wolf type thing emerge from the forest. It could have been a human though. His weapon (a bow and arrow) was raised and it was pointed staright at Jack's chest. Jack raised his wand and shot the beast. The spell hit the Wolfman but his onlly reflex was to shoot his arrow, and unfortunatly his aim had shifted.

"Jack," that was the last thing I said before the arrow plowed into my stomach, knocking me out cold.
