This is a collection of love stories. Stories that I heard from other people, some, I've experienced, and others I've imagined.

The first one is about falling in love with your best friend's girl. Not a unique story, it happened before, but we read them anyway. So, this is a story that involves three people who love each other so much that love itself becomes the problem.

The Second story is about a girl who finds the perfect love story through a series of letters. It helped her discover what love is all about, but will it lead her to a place where she will be happy?

The Third is a story that evolved from anger. Two single parents work in the same company find themselves locked in an emotional tug of war. Do you go for the guy whom everybody likes, or settle for someone who everybody hates?

6. When it Rains

When Joe went missing, Karen thought she’d go crazy.  She knew whatever happens to him was all her fault.  He had been drinking because she gave in to her emotions and kissed him back. She should’ve told him to stop—she was Russell’s girl.  But, no, she went for it and enjoyed every second with him. It didn’t happen once, twice… how long was she going to let this go on?

Now, Joe was gone, and there were people after his internal organs! Karen panicked and so did Vivian. She agreed to everything, including telling Russell this crazy story about how she and Joe wanted to elope, but Joe changed his mind and now they were breaking up and he decided to drink, but then the strange people came to steal his liver!  Russell, being who he was, accepted everything as fact.  He called the police, but Joe hadn’t been missing that long.  Plus, he was drunk—made the report sound stupid.  They had to wait a full 24 hours and if he didn’t turn up, then he’d be, ‘officially’, missing.

That’s why they were all relieved to hear his voice on the phone.  He was safe, though he was in jail; at least he was alive and with all his internal organs intact!  They all rushed towards him, Vivian, surprisingly, putting up a very believable performance that Karen was almost convinced she had genuine feelings for Joe.  But that was the plan and, as resentful as she was, Vivian did a fantastic job.  Russell was convinced and that was all that mattered.  She can now end things with Joe gracefully. Things would go back to the way they were.

Then, Joe said goodbye, and the sound of it was making her heart beat faster.  She was about to scream, call his name, and cry to the world how she feels about him.  “Please! Not like this!”

He held her face with both hands, cupping her tear-drenched cheeks.  Kissing her forehead like he’d always done in past, but for some reason, this time, the kiss felt different.  This time it really felt like he was letting go.

She could hear Vivian’s voice in the distance.  She was calling to her, screaming profanities.

“Karen!  Karen!! Stop being a selfish bitch!!”

Karen tried to snap out of the daze that Joe’s goodbye kiss had put her in.  She couldn’t understand what was happening.  She wanted this to end. She wanted things to go back to the way they were.

“I’m gonna go,” he said, letting go of her face.  “I betrayed my best friend.  I’m sorry!  I’m so, so sorry!”

“Goodbye.” He turned and smiled at Vivian.  “Thank you.”

And just like that, he was gone.  He hailed the next taxi and rode off.  Karen was sure he wasn’t going back to the studio.  Where he was going, no one knows.
