That's Life - Plain and Simple

This is my actual diary. I thought to myself, none of you know me or go to my school, you'll probably never meet me, and I believe that you're all above making fun of people. I will use this to ask for advice, give advice on various things, and just express my feelings and thoughts on various things. Please do not take offence to anything I say in my diary! =) I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings through writing this.

20. A Moment of Silence

I know this happened a longish time ago, but I feel like it's quite necessary and I hope you all agree.

R.I.P Amanda Todd

I don't usually dedicate entries or chapters and stuff like that to people, but once again I think it's honestly the least I could do for this poor girl.

Could we just have a minute of silence?

Right, this did happen a few months ago but that doesn't mean it's any less tragic. I have recently rewatched the original 'Amanda Todd' video, which was the inspiration of this entry.

For those who don't know Amanda Todd or her story, here is a rough, not-so-short summary:

First of all, she lived British Columbia, Canada.

In 7th grade Amanda and her friends when on webcams and such. People were always telling her how beautiful, stunning, and perfect she was. One day, this guy asked her to flash. (get naked)

1 year later she did. She flashed. Somehow the guy got all of her personal information, even a list of her friend's and family's names! He wanted her to put on a show for him or he would post a photo of her breasts.

On Christmas break, there was a knock at her door at 4am. It was the police. Her boobs had been posted everywhere. After that, she got really sick. Anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. She even started drugs and alcohol. Her anxiety got so bad, she couldn't even go outside.

Another year pasted and the guy returned with all of her new information. This time he created a FaceBook page with her boobs as the profile picture. She lost all of her new found friends and respect. She actually started cutting.

She ate her lunch by herself in the library everyday. Nobody wanted to be her friend. So she moved schools once again. She still sat alone but things got better.

She eventually started talking to a old guy friend of hers. He led her on and made her believe that he loved her, even though he already had a girlfriend that Amanda knew about. Little did she know that he really didn't care for her at all.

One day, he asked her to come to his house because his girlfriend was on vacation. She did and they hooked up.

One week later she got a text that told her to go outside. She was at school at the time. She went outside and was greeted by a large group of people. Her guy friend and his girlfriend included. The girlfriend beat her up, punched her over and over. Amanda lied and said that the entire hook up was her idea. She didn't want her guy friend to get hurt, she thought he cared for her. She was left lying on the ground after that.

She fled and hid in a ditch, wanting to die. Her dad found her and brought her home, where she drank bleach and was taken to the hospital to get flushed. When she finally got home, she read FaceBook comments saying stuff like, "She deserved it." and, "I hope she's dead."

She moved to her mom's house, in a different city. 6 months later there were some pretty hurtful photo's of bleach bottles and ditches floating around the internet. She was tagged in them.

She started taking anti depressants and doing counselling. Once, she overdosed and was in the hospital for 2 days.

On October, 10, 2012 at around 6pm PDT, Amanda Michelle Todd was found hanged in her home.

After multiple attempts, she did commit suicide.

There, now you all know. I'm sorry if this entry is depressing. But I'm even more sorry for what this girl went through. Why are people so mean? Why couldn't they leave well enough alone? Yes, people make mistakes. Who the hell doesn't?

Humans as a whole are cruel and mean beings.

I would check them out if I were you
