Just My Luck

One mistake changed everything, but I guess that was just my luck. I was being my normal clumsy and forgetful self but I guess it was meant to be that way. What if, no I don't even want say what if I hadn't because then I would have never met my love, Harry. I was just an average student with luck, lots of it, when my life changed forever. It must have been fate that brought us together and I am forever grateful for my one little mistake. Even though I told myself I would never let myself fall in love again after what happened last time but I couldn't help myself, I hope it wasn't a mistake.

12. Chapter 12

I sat up on my bed to find I had never put my pajamas on. I scratched the back of my head trying to remember how I ended up here. I went to get out of bed when I almost stepped on a sleeping Harry on the floor. I side stepped over him and started to walk towards the kitchen and decided I would make breakfast for us. I decided to make some pancakes. I whipped up a quick pancake batter and decided I would bought some fruit in them. I pulled out some blueberries, and strawberries from the fridge and I found a banana on the counter .and sliced them into smaller pieces and added them into the batter.

I cooked them pancakes quickly and put them on to two plates, one for me and one for Harry. I left them on the counter and went to go get Harry up. I walked in to the bedroom but no one was on the floor anymore.

"Harry..." I stopped suddenly as someones' hands wrapped around my eyes.

"Who is it?" Someone said in a fake high pitched voice.

"Santa Clause, no no I take that back uhm, Susan Boyle, never mind I give up!"

The mystery man spun me around a kissed me on the lips.

"Breakfast is going to get cold, come on Harry," I pleaded.

"We will pick this up later," He said as we left my bedroom and walked toward the kitchen. He picked up both plates of pancakes and handed me one.

"This looks brilliant," Harry said as he started to eat his pancakes. We both took a bite of the pancakes and they were amazing. The combination of strawberries, bananas, and blueberries was perfect.

"Thanks Haz, any idea what we are going to do today?' I asked.

"I thought we could just hang out here, if that's not a problem. I've got some films in my car we could watch," Harry said.

"That's fine, what movies do you have?" I questioned clearly over emphasizing the word 'movies'.

"I have one special one in mind, I'll go get it." Harry put his pancakes down and walked to the front door. He left the house and came back with a disc in his hand.

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

"Women In Black," He replied.

"I hate scary movies, like despise them," I said trying not to sound wimpy.

“But I am here to protect you,” Harry pleaded.

“Fine, put if I have nightmare I am calling you at three in the morning,” I said as I left my food on the counter too and went to go join him in the living room.

“That’s okay love,” He said as he put the disc in the player and came back on the couch with the remote. He fast forwarded through most of the commercials and then pressed play on the main menu. I cuddled up next to him scared to death of what was going to happen.

“Isn’t that the guy from Harry Potter?” I asked as the movie began.

“Yeah, do you like Harry Potter?”

“Yes, I do, what about you?”

“I am a massive fan. We are going to have to have a Harry Potter movie marathon one day.” Harry planned.

“We should do that,” I agreed. We were suddenly silient as the movie really started. Everytime someone shrieked or something scary happened I would scream and bury myself in Harry’s shoulder.

“We can watch a different movie if you want,” He said as he picked up on how frightened I was.

“It’s okay.” I screamed once again and buried my head. He lifted my head off his shoulders and looked right into my eyes and then kissed me.

“We can change the movie or keep doing…” Harry began. I cut him off by putting my lips back on his and I completely tuned out the movie the last hour of the movie.

I woke up sweating and scared. I checked my phone and it was three in the morning, we had watched that movie more than twelve hours ago and it still scared me. I exhaled deeply and tried to calm myself down. All I could see was that creepy lady's face, it was haunting me. I knew I couldn't go back to sleep, but I tried. I laid my head on the pillow and then remembered Harry's promise. I took my phone off the nightstand and dialed Harry's number.

"What's up babe?" He asked.

"I don't mean to wake you up or anything... "

"You didn't, love."

"I had nightmares. All I can see is that lady, and I need to sleep but I can't." I admitted.

"I always keep my promises, would it help if I sang you to sleep?"

"Maybe," I replied.

"Then let's give it a try then." I turned my phone on speaker and put it back on the nightstand. He started singing "I'll Be There" by the Jackson Five, he sang it slower though so it was more relaxing. I hummed along to the familiar song. The ladies face disappeared from my mind and I was no longer scared. Harry started a new song, this time it was "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. I blushed knowing he was thinking about me as he sang the lyrics.    "And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for awhile. Cause girl you're amazing just the way you are," Harry sang. I began to drift asleep to the sound of his voice. I slowly fell asleep not wanting this phone call to end. Just before I fell asleep Harry began singing "Moments". By the end of the song I was fast asleep, and was no longer scared by anything because I knew I had Harry.
