68. Louis' and Kylie's Wedding

opened my eyes and smiled. Today was Kylie’s big day. She was getting married to my party buddy. You might know him as Louis Tomlinson. I couldn’t believe that this day had come. I would have never thought that my best friend would get married to my other best friend. I got out of my bed and stretched. There was a lot that needed to be done today. We had to get everything set up at the beach, get everyone ready, make sure that all the food, flowers, and guests have arrived, and so much more. I knew that Kylie had everything under control but I didn’t want her to be worried on her big day.

My phone rang and I went to go grab it.

“Hello?” I said, putting it between my ear and my shoulder.

“Mik?” Kylie’s voice spoke through the phone.

“Hey Kyles! You excited?” I said, pulling on a pair of sweats.

“I guess.” Kylie said, not sounding like her normal self.

“Kylie, what’s wrong?” I said, and took the phone into my hand.

“I’m not sure if I want to marry him.” She said, finally after a long period of silence.

“Kylie! How could you say that? Of course you do! It’s just nerves talking. Everything will be fine. Trust me. I’ll be with you the entire time. Just remember that your parents are arriving at the airport at 9. I’m picking them up and you have nothing to do. All you have to do is get prettified for your wedding. Just don’t worry. We have everything under control.” I said, speaking in a firm voice.

“I guess you’re right. What am I thinking!?!? If course I want to marry him. Otherwise why would I have said yes in the first place? I can’t believe I would even think about not marrying him. I love Louis. I really do. Thanks Mik. You always know how to make someone feel better.” Kylie said, her voice relieved.

“Your welcome. Anything for my bestie who is getting married! I can’t believe it. Who would’ve thought one of us would get married?” I said and ended up squealing.

“I know! I can’t believe it either!” Kylie said, her voice loud and shrill with excitement.

“But, Kyles I got to go. I have to go pick up your parents and Lou’s mum. I’ll see you in a few hours. I’ll text you when I get to the airport.” I said, laughing.

“Ok. Tell my mum and dad that I said hi! Oh and watch out. They are very formal and uptight.” Kylie warned me.

“I will. Loves you Kyles!” I said.

“Loves you too Mik!” she said and hung up.

I put my phone down and grabbed a new t-shirt. I slipped it on and tied my hair up into a bun. I slid my feet into a pair of Uggs and grabbed my phone off of the bed. I grabbed my keys to my Audi that Harry had bought me. It was a gorgeous car and I loved driving it. I haven’t in forever because of the drama and it reminded me of him. I drove to the airport making good time on the highway.  I was excited to meet Lou’s mum and Kylie’s parents. It would be an interesting experience for me.  I arrived at the airport with time to spare. I spotted a Starbucks and decided to treat myself to a Mango Orange Smoothie. It was Harry and I’s favorite drink from Starbucks. It was a delicious drink.

I came to the gate where Kylie’s parents would be arriving. I pulled out my phone and started playing Temple Run.

“Excuse me. Are you Mikayla?” a woman’s voice said, and a hand appeared on my shoulder.

I looked up to see a woman about 40 years old and a man who looked about 45. They were the spitting image of Kylie.

“Yes. Hi, I’m Mikayla Patterson. You must be Kylie’s parents.” I said, standing up and sticking out my hand.

“Yes. I’m Mrs. Yearnsley. This is my husband John. You can call me Margo.” The woman said, taking my hand and shaking it.

“Hello.” Said Mr. Yearnsley or John I should say, also taking my hand and shaking it.

“Please excuse me for my appearance. I was late this morning.” I said, noticing their fancy pants clothes and expensive looking coats and suitcases.

“It’s alright dear. Now let’s go and meet the man my daughter has fallen in love with.” Margo said, giving my appearance a look of slight disgust.

I shifted uncomfortably under her gaze. Kylie was right. They are very formal and uptight. I couldn’t wait to meet Lou’s mum. If she was anything like Lou I’d die.

“Um Mrs. Yearnsley, I am also waiting for your daughter’s husband’s mother. She should be here any second.” I said and pulled at my t-shirt.

Kylie’s mum huffed under her breath while Mr. Yearnsley just sighed and shook his head slightly. I could tell Kylie’s dad wasn’t as strict and uptight like her mum.

“Mikayla? Is that you?” a voice came from behind me.

I twirled around to see a young looking woman with light brown hair and eyes just like Louis making her way towards me with her suitcase dragging behind her and a jacket thrown carelessly across her arm. Along with four girls trailing behind her.

“Hello, Mrs. Tomlinson!” I said, and was pulled into a hug.

“Hello! Louis has told me much about you. Oh and please call me Johannah” Mrs. Tomlinson said, pushing a strand of loose hair behind her ear.

“Can I have your autograph?” said one of the little girls.

“Oh Lottie, don’t overwhelm the girl. Mikayla this is Lottie, Felicity also known as Fizz, Daisy, and Phoebe.” Johannah said, pointing to each girl in turn.

“Well Miss. Lottie I would be happy to sign an autograph for you. DO you have something for me to sign?” I asked her.

Lottie pulled out a sharpie and her phone. She handed both of them to me and I smiled. I took it and wrote my name on the back of her phone case.

“Here you go, sweetie.” I said, handing the adorable 13 year old girl her phone.

I stood back up and noticed Kylie’s parents standing there.

“Oh Mr. and Mrs. Yearnsley this is Mrs. Tomlinson, your daughter’s fiancé’s mother. Mrs. Tomlinson these are Kylie’s parents.” I introduced them. Johannah stuck out her hand and Mr. Yearnsley shook it.

“Hello.” Lou’s mum said, smiling.

“Hello.” Mrs. Yearnsley stated,

“Now can we go see Louis?” said Felicity said, pulling on her mum’s sleeve.

“Yes. Yes we can.” Johannah said, breathlessly.

“Follow me. There is a limo waiting for you guys. Would one of you like to ride in my Audi with me?” I asked the girls.

“I would!” Felicity said, right before any of the other girls could say anything.

“Alrighty then. Let’s go.” I said, and grabbed a few suitcases.

We all walked down to where the cars were and I hailed a limo. Kylie’s parents and Lou’s mum along with Daisy, Lottie, and Phoebe climbed in.

“Just follow me. I drive a blue Audi R8 Coupe. Just follow me and I’ll lead you to where we need to go.” I told the driver and he nodded.

“Great. I’ll see you all in a few! Come on Felicity!” I said and called to the bouncy girl.

She grabbed my hand and I led her to the parking lot where my baby was waiting.

“Climb in Felicity!” I said and slid in the driver’s side.

“So are you dating Harry?” Felicity asked me, all of a sudden.

“Oh um no. Not anymore.” I said, awkwardly.

“Why not?” she asked me, curiosity in her eyes.

“It’s compli- I don’t know. Fizz I really don’t know.” I sighed, after thinking about her question.

“Do you love him?” Fizz said.

“Yes. Yes I do.” I breathed out.

“Well then why aren’t you dating him?” Fizz exclaimed, like it made perfect sense, which it did.

“I just don’t know. I just don’t know.” I told her.

“Well you should do something about it.” Fizz said after some silence.

“I want to. Trust me I do. How about some music?” I said, changing the subject.

“Sure.” Felicity said, and I turned on the radio.

Surprise surprise What Makes You Beautiful came on. I glanced at Fizz and she had a grin on her face. I felt one on my face too. This was the version where I was singing also.

“Your voice is beautiful.” Fizz complimented me.

“Thanks love.” I said and we both began to sing along very loudly and obnoxiously.

“Kyles! Lou! Guess who’s here?” I shouted as I opened the door to Louis’ flat.

“Mum!” Louis came screaming from the kitchen.

“Hey baby!” Johannah said, laughing and giving her son a hug.

“Lou!” chorused the Tomlinson sisters.

Louis was immediately attacked by the four girls. Kylie came down and walked up to her parents.

“Hello mum and dad!” she said, a smile on her face.

“Hello Kylie. Care to introduce us to your fiancé?”  Mrs. Yearnsley said.

“Yes mother. Louis?” Kylie called to Lou who was shaking off his sisters. He came up to Kylie and wrapped an arm around her waist.

“Hello. My name is Louis Tomlinson. I’m your daughter’s fiancé. It is wonderful that you were able to make it out here for this big event.”  Louis said, becoming formal and proper.

I had to retain my laughter as he tried to keep his act. I walked over to where Niall, Harry, and Zayn were standing, hiding from everyone but laughing their heads off. We laughed together.

Kylie broke away from Louis and walked over to Johannah.

“Hi. I’m Kylie.” She said simply and Johannah pulled Kylie into a hug.

“It’s so nice to meet the girl my son won’t shut up about over the phone and will be marrying in several hours.” Johannah said after she finished hugging Kylie.

“Hey guys! Enough with the introductions. It’s time!” I announced when I finished laughing.

All the girls squealed and we all went to our separate flats to grab our stuff. Kylie’s parents and Lou’s mum were staying at a hotel right on the beach where the wedding would be at. They had gone back there and we were scrambling to get everything ready. In about an hour we had arrived at the location. Kylie and Louis decided to have their wedding at this beach at sunset. We had about five hours till that time. Just enough to get ready. The chairs and rolled out white carpet was in place along with the gazebo where the podium for the priest or whatever the guy is called who pronounces them husband and wife. I lead Kylie to the hotel where we would be getting ready and she ad I went our separate ways. I went to make sure everything was set up for the party afterwards. It was going to be in the hotel in one of the main dining halls. I went down there and made sure that all the tables were set up along with the nametags. SO many people were going to be here. We had to keep it a secret though. If the press found out they’d have a field day.

“Mik!” someone called me.

I turned around and saw Liam. He was in his suit. I on the other hand was still in my sweats. I grinned at him.

“Hey Liam. Looking good.” I said.

“Thanks. Don’t you need to get ready?” he said, hugging me.

“Yeah, but there is still so much to do!” I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

“Go get ready. I got everything else.” Liam said.

“Thanks Li!” I exclaimed and stood up.

“Anytime! Now go get gorgeous.” He said and kissed my forehead.

I laughed and took off for the dressing rooms. I found mine and opened up the door. Inside were just a simple room and a closet. Inside the closet was my dress. I loved it. It was lavender and was backless and strapless. It was a floor length gown and was silky. I showered and did my makeup. I put my curled my hair and put it into an intricate messy bun and eventually put my dress on. I grabbed my heels and slid them on also. I checked the time and bolted out of the room to where everyone would be waiting.

“Okay whoever doesn’t have a job go down to the beach and find the seat with your name. Those with a job follow me.” I yelled when I reached the crowd of people. Everyone turned and went down to the beach leaving all of One Direction and their girlfriends with me and Kylie’s father and the twins. The twins were the flower girls and going out of tradition the ring bearers too.

“Ok all of you get into the order in which you will head out. Boys head on out and go wait for us. Mr. Yearnsley please follow me.” I said and turned back around to go find Kylie who was with her mother.

“I don’t care! I love him with all my heart and nothing you do can stop me from marrying him. You are just mad because I’m not marrying someone of your approval!” shouting came from Kylie’s room.

I stopped and so did Mr. Yearnsley.

“No. I just don’t approve of Louis. I don’t want you marrying a guy who acts like a two year old all the time!” Kylie’s mother yelled.

“Well I don’t care. I’m marrying him. Now just go away mother. Just go.” Kylie screamed.

The door slammed open and revealed a red faced Mrs. Yearnsley.

“Excuse me.” She said and pushed past us. I rushed in and saw Kylie in tears.

“Kyles it’s okay. Forget about her. Come on let’s get your makeup finished and let’s get you married.” I said, softly. I pulled her into her chair in front of the vanity. I fixed her makeup and checked the time.

“You ready?” I asked her.

“As ready as I will ever be.” She said, her voice strong and confident.

“Well then let’s go. Mr. Yearnsley, your daughter.” I said and handed Kylie off to him.

Kylie was beautiful. Her dress was gorgeous. It was a white gown with a tight strapless top. The skirt was huge and poufy. All in all Kylie fit the dress and the dress fit Kylie. It was perfect for her.

“Thank you. Now go on and get the audience ready for my gorgeous daughter.” He said and I smiled.

I grabbed my white rose bouquet and walked to the entrance of the hotel where the white carpet leading up to where Louis was waiting for Kylie. Music started and the twins walked out throwing white and purple flower petals onto the white carpet. Then the bridesmaids’ cue. Kayla, Lilly, and Zoey all walked single file down the aisle. Then my cue. I stepped out smiling a real smile and kept my eyes on the alter. I reached it just in time. The wedding march began playing and Kylie stepped out with her father. I could tell she was scared to death but was putting on a brave face. I smiled and stood waiting for her to reach Louis.

The rest of the night was a blur. The reception party was a blast. The one highlight was Lottie falling asleep and landing in the chocolate fountain. My dance with Harry was short and simple. It was slightly awkward but fun all the less. By midnight everything was over. Kylie went to go get changed into another dress this time a sundress. Then we sent them off on their honeymoon. Before they left though Kylie threw her bouquet in the air. All of us jumped to catch it but I was the one who caught it. I blushed turning into the human tomato. Then Louis removed Kylie’s garter and threw it straight at Harry. Big time blushing there.  Then, we all waved goodbye to the newly wed couple.

We all shouted things, some inappropriate some sweet.

“Use protection!” was Harry’s comment.

“Have fun! But not too much!” Was Zayn’s.

“We’ll miss you!” was the girls’ comment and then they drove away. Two of my best friends were married and gone, only to return new people.
