Round the Corner

"Everything is perfect the way it is. Why do you want to change that?" He whispered to me as his strong arms found their place around my shoulders. "I don't want anything to change Harry," I whisper back intertwining my fingers with his. But everything has already changed. And there's nothing I can do about it.

This is a story centered around Harry Styles from One Direction.

4. Not Nonsense

I sit there in shock while my mind jolted to a stop. He left it at his flat.

He left it.

At his flat.

Left it.

What the hell?

“Your face is going to get stuck like that.”

Blinking I rub my temples to try and get the circulation running back to my brain. My eyes focus in on Harry, seeing his eyebrows furrowed and little wrinkles appear in the bridge of his nose.

“What the hell?” I ask completely incredulous.

He sighs and rubbed the cute little wrinkles out of his nose. “I know, I’m sorry. It slipped my mind this morn-”

I continue, pretending not to have heard him. “I walked all the way here, trying to convince myself that I wasn’t crazy, and dismissing fears that I would be kidnapped and all other types of crazy scenarios, all to get my phone back. Which you could’ve just mailed me. Seriously? What now? You expect me to follow a practical stranger back to their flat? I’m not naïve, crazy yes, stupid maybe, but not naïve.”

He closed his eyes and ran a hand down his face. He took a deep breath, opening his eyes and letting those green orbs pierce mine.  “I’m not crazed, a kidnapper, or a rapist. I promise that I will take you directly to my house-you can even stand outside while I retrieve it. I never meant to leave it there; it really did slip my mind.”

Oh, good God please don’t look at me like that. Don’t look at me with those sad eyes. That pouted lip. I can’t say no to a face like that!

I’m crazy. I am absolutely certifiable. Damn my soft heart. Looking down I fiddled with my coffee as I tried to build up the courage to be stupid.

“Alright, I’ll go. But don’t be getting any ideas. We walk there, I wait outside, you fetch my phone and then I leave.”

His lips pulled up into a smile, making those stupid dimples appear again.

Do you think he would mind if I licked them? Or one? I could live with just one. I bit my lip to keep form laughing out loud at the creepiness of that last thought.

Wow that was a whole new level of disturbing that was reached.

“I’m not as menacing as you seem to think I am, ya know.” He smirked as he stood, gesturing toward the door.

“My opinion isn’t set in stone. The day is still young.” I retort as I try and hold back an instinctive smile at his. He laughs and sets toward the front door.

I hold back and breathe in deeply coming to the realization that I relied way too much on my phone to put up with this nonsense.

I looked up at my new tall acquaintance, seeing his easy smile and bright green eyes.

Then again, maybe it’s not nonsense.
