Round the Corner

"Everything is perfect the way it is. Why do you want to change that?" He whispered to me as his strong arms found their place around my shoulders. "I don't want anything to change Harry," I whisper back intertwining my fingers with his. But everything has already changed. And there's nothing I can do about it.

This is a story centered around Harry Styles from One Direction.

2. Late Night Calls

Chapter 2! :) Please Enjoy!!

I dialed my phone yet again, hoping for an answer. It had been twenty-four hours since I lost it, and I was getting worried I might never get it back.

“Hello, you’ve reached Maddie. Sorry I missed-“

Groaning I slammed the land line back down, slumping against the wall in frustration. My living room clock told me it was past midnight. I'm not going to get anywhere this late at night, might as well try again tomorrow. I picked myself up off the will, and lumbered into my room, curling up underneath my covers and falling into a fitful sleep.

The incessant ringing of the telephone woke me a few hours later. I rolled out of bed and sluggishly walked to the old rotary phone on the opposite side of the room, and picked up the phone. “Hello?” I ask mid-yawn as I laid my head on the wall.

“Bet you’re happy to hear from me, huh?” It was a deep, kind of attractive sounding voice on the other end.

“Who is this?” I attempt to sound authoritative but I doubt I sound scarier than a bunny.

“Shouldn’t I be asking you that? You have been calling this line all day.”

I shot up from the wall fully awake and severly pissed off. “So you’ve had my phone this entire time? Why haven’t you answered the fifty times I’ve called before?”

There was a rustling and a slight chuckle from the other end of the line. “I’m very busy, babe.”

I roll my eyes my nostrils flaring in aggravation. “But suddenly you’re not busy at three in the morning?”

“I didn’t want to keep you waiting any longer, you seemed very eager to talk to me.” The slight twinge of sarcasm in the man’s voice flared my anger even further.

“I assure you I could’ve held out until a decent time of the day. Right now the Queen is the only person I would talk to at this time of night.” There was a hearty laugh on the other end, and I find myself almost smiling at the wonder of it. “Well, I could always call you back-“

“NO!” I shouted almost falling onto the floor in my sudden burst of energy. “There’s no telling if I’ll ever get a hold of you again. Can we please just discuss the matter of me getting my phone back?”

“Sure, there’s this nice bookstore around the corner from me we could meet up there tomorrow and I can give you your phone then.”

“Uhm, you couldn't just send it to me?” The line went dead, leaving me standing and bewildered at three in the morning.
