6. Realizing the Truth

"What?!" her father screeched into her phone. "I-I don't know, I-I just w-walked in and all the furniture...was g-gone!", Heather stutters loudly. She hears her father murmur something to her mother, with a sharp and panicked tone. "We're coming home, honey!," her mother says loudly from a few feet away. Then, they hang up. Heather slides her iPhone 5 into her Ralph Lauren blazer and runs up the stairs. She runs into her room. Heather gasps, then collapses into tears on her white carpet. Everything was...gone.

Her parents run in. Her father's jaw drops. Her mother's mascara runs down her cheeks and she presses her hands to her mouth to keep from bursting into tears. "Oh," the faint word escapes her father's open mouth. Mrs. Anderson drops on her knees and buries her face in her manicured hands. "My furniture!", her voice was muffled and flat. Mr. Anderson paces around the foyer, continuously running his hand through his hair in anxiety. Heather stood at the top of the stairs, speechless, witnessing her parents break down. She realized what was truly happening...they were robbed.
