Little Things

When One Direction's opening act for their Take Me Home tour gets into a horrible accident, and isn't able to go on tour with them, Simon decides to find a replacement on YouTube and comes across a 16 year old brunette with a voice of an angel. She happens to go by the name of Mikayla Lloyd. Who'll fall for the flawless girl with the green eyes? Will Mikayla find out about her step-sister? Or will something happen that makes her run away from her comfort zone paradise?

Mikayla's POV.

"MIKAYLA INDIANA LLOYD!" I heard my mum call for me downstairs. I looked at Lyana questioningly, she just shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah mum?" I yelled back. "I have exciting news for you!" she squealed. I laughed and couldn't help but realize home much cooler my mum was compared to anyone else's. She's so... hip? "Coming!" I called back then grabbed Lyana's hand pulling her with me.

"Yeah mum?" I asked again once I reached the bottom of the stairs. She was sitting on the couch with a massive grin on her face. "What is it?' Lyana asked smiling too now. I giggled at how excited my mum was, but seriously, she needs to tell me before I explode. Like, soon.

She jumped up from the couch and squealed once more. "Simon Cowell called! HE WANTS YOU TO MEET HIM AND ONE DIRECTION IN TWO DAYS!!!" She screamed. My lungs stopped functioning and I stopped breathing. I was just standing there with my mouth hanging wide open. "No. He didn't" I whispered unsurely. "YES HE DID!" she yelled. I soon realised she was speaking the truth. A smile slowly spread out on my lips.

"OMG OMG OMG! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" I screamed excitedly.

"But wait, how'd he find it? I only posted it this morning?" Lyana asked looking a little left out.

"WHO CARES? Simon friggin' Cowell asked you to meet them the worlds greatest boy band in two days! EEEIIIKKKKK!" She screamed. We held hands and started jumping around in a circle. "OH! I almost forgot," she said stoppping abruptly before grinning again. "Lyana you get to go too!"

Lyana froze in place her eyes growing wider by the second. Uh-oh. I knew what was coming. I covered my ears and anticipated her piercing scream, and... "EEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!"

Even through my fingers it hurt like hell. "SHHHHH!" I said covering my hand over her mouth glancing at the door. I half expected a troop of angry neighbours to come marching through the door at any second. She smiled sheepishly at me but she quickly recovered. She jumped into action taking over the situation.

"What are you waiting for? We have suitcases to pack, clothes to pick and things to take care of!" she said dragging me back up the stairs. Lyana wasn't my sister but she lived with me because her parents are always away on business trips. We had my closet made bigger to fit all her clothes too. She threw open the wardrobe and began flinging clothes onto the bed. "What should we wear? Dresses? Jeans?" Lyana asked frantically. I took hold of her shoulders.

"Babe. Chill."

She relaxed. I walked over to the now half empty closet we shared. Hmmm... where to start, where to start I asked myself in my head with my hands on my waist. I got down on my knees and pulled our suitcases out from under our beds. This was going to take a while...

By the end of the day we had four suitcases between us. Two for Lyana and two for me. Our clothes for the trip were laid out neatly on the edge of our beds. I was going to wear a cute polka-dotted white and navy waist-high waterfall skirt, with a turquoise tuck-in see-through chiffon blouse and a dark blue and black bracelet inside. Dark blue converse would complete the look. Lyana would be wearing a cute light blue sundress with white sandals and a bow in her hair. That girl loved experimenting. Oh and of course she had to pack all her make-up! I loved the natural look or not wearing any at all but Lyana had a different opinion entirely. Did I forget to mention she had dreams of becoming a make-up artist?

We had a system. She wasn't big on clothes so she just usually borrowed mine and I didn't have much make-up so I borrowed hers. Everything from mascara, foundation, lipgloss, any liquid eyeliners, concealers, powders, lipstick and eyeshadow were thrown in her suitcase. By the time she was done, there was nothing left on our dressing table. I managed to snag myself a cherry chapstick for the plane ride though so I was pretty happy. Oh and breath mints. Lots and lots of breath mints just in case. After dragging our luggage to the bottom of the stairs, I collapsed onto my bed with a smile on my face. I couldn't wait!

I decided I'd tweet about it just for kicks you know. Not that I have any followers anyway.

"@Mikayla_Indi_Lloyd: OMG OMG OMG, I'm going to meet One friggin Direction! LALALALALALALALALA I'm so bloody excited!"

I set my phone back onto the side table and turned over to Lyana. "We need sleep," I announced and she nodded yawning. "Like now..." I said yawning as well before immediately falling into a dream-less sleep.

I woke up to Lyana jumping on her bed, blasting out her Up All Night album on my bright blue CD/MP3 player. I smiled when I realized what day it was. "WOOHOOO!" I yelled and started dancing ridiculously with Lyana as we danced all the way down the stairs over to my mum. "Morningggg!" I sang as Lyana and I leaned down to kiss her on the cheek.

Lyana was practically my mum's second daughter and to be honest? I didn't mind! "What would you girls like for breakfast this special morning then?" Mum asked as she walked over to the pantry. "CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES!" We both yelled in unison and started bouncing in our seats. Did I mention the music was still blasting upstairs? Well it was and mum was dancing around the kitchen along to it.

We both giggled and cheered her on as she did the booty shake which made us laugh uncontrollably. "Alright alright, here you go sweethearts." She said sliding two pancakes each onto our plates. "YAY!" We shouted then dug into it like monsters. Like, legit monsters.

After we were done, I put both our plates into the dishwasher and skipped up the stairs, dancing with Lyana as I did so. At the top of the stairs, I dashed into the bathroom before Lyana could so that I could take a shower. "OH COME ON!" She yelled in frustration. I'm guessing she flopped onto the bed after that because I didn't hear anything after that.

I washed my hair with my favorite mango scented shampoo and strawberry scented body wash. "Mikayla hurry up!" I heard Lyana whine from the other side of the door. "Oh come on, be patient." I called back and I heard her sigh loudly. Muahahhaha.

I finished then wrapped myself in my soft purple towel and strolled out into my room, only to get a death stare from Lyana. "It's all yours," I winked walking over to my clothes. Surprisingly, it was an extremely hot day but I decided to bring my Abercrombie & Fitch cardigan in my bag. After that I started to dry my hair, but gave up after a while. I just let it dry naturally as I examined myself in the mirror. I sighed. I can't keep doing this to myself.

"Are you seriously going to wear converse?" Lyana asked from behind me. I spun around as she was slipping her dress over her head. "Yeah. I want to be comfortable Yana," I told her calling her by her nickname. She sighed and nodded. "Whatever," she said simply slipping on the rest of her clothes.

"Are you going to put on makeup?" I asked hesitantly. "Duh. I have a pimple on my forehead! I'm totally not meeting One Direction with a pimple sticking out of my face!" She said dramatically. I rolled my eyes at her, applying my cherry chapstick before giving myself a toothy smile in the mirror. I chuckled at myself then turned to Lyana who was struggling with her sandals. "Lyana, why don't you just wear pumps?" I asked motioning to the blue strappy wedges that lay on the floor next to our closet. She sighed in defeat and grabbed those, slipping them on with ease.

"I still can't believe you're wearing converse," she said once we were in the car on our way to the airport. "Oh shut up," I replied shoving her playfully and giggled looking down at my phone. Since we lived in Worcestershire we decided it would only be sensible to fly there.

"Okay you girls go first and I'll go park and meet you in there okay?" my mum said looking  at us through her rear view mirror. Lyana and I nodded as we loaded all the luggages onto a trolley, including our mum's. We struggled to push the cart all the way over to the check-in counter but managed eventually. Since we were going first class, thanks to Simon of course, the line was empty so we checked in all our bags and told the lady at the counter that our mum was going to check in later.

We decided to have a walk around for a while since I rarely got to fly. "Look! It's a magazine article about the boys!" Lyana said excitedly as she ran into a small store. I laughed at how retarded she looked running in her heels but followed anyway. "1D's Zayn and LM's Perrie together?" was the headline in bold and I saw Lyana's face fall. She tried her best to put on a brave face and flash me a confident smile. "I-I'm glad he's happy," she muttered struggling to recompose herself as we left the shop and walked to Starbucks.

Oh! Another piece of information I must have stupidly missed out. Lyana had met Zayn once when we went to Bradford for vacation. He hadn't joined the X-Factor then so he wasn't surrounded my fans or security. They started talking in a coffee shop and they went out for a while, well at least until we had to leave to go back to school. That's when she found out he had been seeing someone else. They did promise to see each other again though.

Unfortunately, that day was today. The minute we touch London ground, we'll be whisked off to One Direction land. Not that I'm complaining or anything. "Are you alright doll?" I asked. "Yeah... he deserves to be happy," she said more confidently now wrapping her hands around her warm mug filled to the brim with her caramel frappe.

"Girl, I think I know you when you're not okay. Plus, it's only a rumor anyway," I assured her even though I was unsure of myself. She sighed and nodded before my mum came running in with a Duty Free bag. "Here mum," I said handing her the latte I had bought for her to go. "Is that Victoria Secret?" Lyana asked eyeing the bag. My mum stared at her blankly when a clear voice rang out through the airport.

"Flight 653 to London is ready for boarding."

"Alright let's go go go!" She said quickly changing the subject. "Don't want to be late do we?" she said pushing us towards the gate. You win this time mother... But I will get that Victoria Secret perfume one way or the other.

We ran towards the plane not being able to wait any longer. When we were seated and had made ourselves comfortable, I laid my head onto Yana's shoulder and she laid hers on top of mine.
