8. Getting to Know You

After Leon walked out, Masa came and sat next to me. Seriously, right next to me. Like, we're-touching-he's-so-close next to me. Angus came and sat next to Hiro.

It turns out, that Angus isn't as horrible as he seems. Then again, calling him 'horrible' is an understatement. He has the decency to ignore me during the day, at least. But I'm pretty sure that under that twisted, maliscious outer shell, there's someone kind hiding inside. But I don't dare say it out loud.

No way in hell would I admit that to anyone.

I smile as Masa comes back from the kitchen with half a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch. He hands it to me. "Sorry, Hiro stole the other half." I only laugh, and shake my head, my way of telling him 'it's all good'. He smiles kindly at me, before sitting back down beside me and watching the television, glancing at me through the corner of his eye when he could. I'm pretty sure I only caught him half the time.

I stop myself to think for a moment. Hold the phone, I think, I've been kidnapped, locked in a house and raped, and I can laugh as if nothing's wrong? I frown, a crease appearing between my eyebrows, a thoughtful expression on my face. I really am going nuts, aren't I?

I feel someone pat me gently on the shoulder. As deep in thought as I am, this immediately and unexpectedly snaps me out of it. I jump, letting out a short squeek, and pressing back against the cushions of the couch. I turn to the right to see a slightly startled Masa, hands up as if surrendering. I relax, releasing a breath I hadn't realised I'd been holding. "Sorry- I was just thinking. You scared the crap out of me, though." I laugh nervously rubbing the back of my neck.

Masa only clears his throat. "That's alright. Sorry for startling you." He says, before looking back towards the television again, continuing to glance at me out of the corner of his eye.

Every now and then, I peek up at Masa through my lashes. He has a handsome profile. And when he's calm and relaxed, he actually looks really young.

"Masa, how old are you?" I ask, startling myself with my own question. I definately hadn't meant to ask that aloud. I guess it just seemed to have... Popped out?

Masa 'coughs' before turning to look at me. "I'm twenty." He says quietly, looking down at his lap. "Hiro is eighteen, Leon is nineteen, and Angus is thirty." He adds, seeming as if he were only trying to fill the silence.

Yet still, I'm shocked. Leon, nineteen? Angus, thirty?!

Well, it's a good thing that the old man's left the room then. But still, Hiro clears his throat beside me. I can just imagine him saying 'shut up, you moron'. It's actually kind of funny. I can feel the corners of my mouth perk up into a small grin as I stare blankly at the television, not really seeing anything.

Then Angus comes into the room. "Guys, we need to go to a modelling session. Leon can watch over the chick."

"Oh, so I'm only 'that chick' now...?" I mutter under my breath. But then I process what he'd said.

Modelling session?

"Wai- Hold the phone, you guys are models?!"

I'm suddenly at a loss for words as I lean over the edge of the couch, my mouth opening and closing like that of a dead fish. Hiro laughs beside me. "With attractive men like us, shouldn't that be expected?"

I cross my arms over my chest, sulking. I pout, glaring down at the floor. Masa laughs from beside me. "What is it?" He asks, tilting my head to face him with one hand, before staring into my eyes.

I keep pouting. "I've always wanted to be a model..." I seeth quietly, glaring straight back at Masa's calm, collected gaze. He only chuckles, his serene eyes now becoming teasing.

"You're not tall enough."

I wrinkle my nose. "You need variety, dim wit."

It was one thing to critisize me, but it's a whole other thing to critisize my dreams.

"And that's why we have Angus." Hiro cuts in, laughing cheerfully.

Now I can't help but laugh. The sound seemingly fills the room, ringing like bells. I look around to find four pairs of eyes on me.

That's right, I said four.

I cough to clear my throat. "Leon."

The blonde only glares at me ruefully. "Ebony." He says, the sound slightly muffled by the bloodied tissues he has stuffed up his nose. I stifle a laugh.

Angus, on the other hand, doesn't.

After laughing softly, he grabs both Hiro and Masa by the arm and draggs them down the hallway and out the door. "Come on, to the cameras!" He cheers, seemingly oblivious to the fight Hiro and Masa are attempting to win against him.

"But Ebony!" Masa cries.

"She'll be fine- Leon won't hurt her!" I hear Angus reply as he shuts the door with that third arm of his. Oh, did I forget to mention it?

It's where his brain should have been.

That moron left me alone with the demon spawn over here! And he thinks I'll be safe?

Pffft. I'll probably be raped and beaten by morning.

And yet, I'm proved otherwise. Leon only sits on the opposite side of the couch, grabbing the blood stained remote and flipping through channels. I decide to at least apologize- I mean, at least he's not chaining me to the bed or anything. I take a deep breath, and somehow find the courage to speak.

"Sorry about the remote thing, but you were being just a little bit of an asshole..." I tell him quietly, facing the tv but watching him through the corner of my eye.

"No worries, I deserved it." He replies, sounding somehow detatched from the world, as if he wasn't even paying attention. He probably didn't even pay attention- it sounded practiced and performed before, a reflex action. I decide to rub it in his face.

"Ah, of course you deserved a broken nose! I am so glad your not mad at me for it!" I smile cheerfully, moving to give him a strong pat on the shoulder.

Leon immediately freezes, turning to glare at me straight on. I immediately retract my hand, fear beginning to chew it's way through my stomach. I laugh nervously.

"I did not apologize!" He hisses, leaning over me. Instinctively, I press my back into the couch cushions, leaning away from him. A maliscious grin spreads across Leon's face, and he pushes me down, my body lying horizontally under his. His whole body is heavy on top of mine, stealing my ability to escape. One of his hands is holding my wrists above my head, robbing me of the ability to use them.

I feel my heart begin to race, and my breath quicken. What's he going to do...?

Leon then frowns. "Why are you so scared of me?" He murmurs, pulling his face closer. I'm pretty sure I stop breathing- being this close to someone so attractive is mind-boggling. It's left my mind blank. I watch as Leon uses his free hand to remove the tissues. He dangles them in front of my face. "This," He says, swinging the bloodied tissues from side to side. "Is fake blood. So is the stuff on the remote."

I only raises an eyebrow. I wouldn't be able to speak with him so close anyway.

He only shakes his head, tossing the tissues to the floor. "At least I can breath through my nose now. And I get my prize."

My body tenses as Leon brings his face closer...

... But I slump in relief when all he does is lay his head in the crook of my neck, breathing in slowly and wrapping both of his arms around my waist. I let out a long breath I hadn't realised I'd been holding, and Leon chuckles. "I'm not that bad, am I?"

"You seemed like it, when Angus was around." I reply calmly.

Leon sighs, the sound both tired and exhasperated. "It's all an act I put on, genius. I thought you'd realise that by now."

I frown. "But you-"

Leon immediately catches onto my train of thought. "It's not rape if you enjoyed it."

All I can do is feel confused. The sound comes out of my mouth anyway. "... Eh?"

Leon sighs again, looking up at me. "You groaned about three times."

I blush, the pinkish colour covering my cheeks. "Whatever."

Leon and I stayed like that for a long while. Eventually, I heard his breathing deepen and slow, the tell-tale signs of sleep. I frown. He looks so beautiful when he's asleep...

I slowly run my fingers through Leon's hair, calmed by the soft texture. Just like a puppy's, I think, a smile forming on my face. I guess you could say my anxieties faded because of Leon. At first, he only gave me more worries- but now, he's getting rid of them all together.

Content and calm, I wrap my arms around Leon, and somehow manage to fall asleep.
