Cats, Kisses, And Wagon Wheels. *finished*

One Direction, a band that was formed during the 2010 X Factor. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson. Oh right, and Charlie Hunter. You didn't know about her? The Wagon-Wheel-addict with the curly hair? Well, I doubt anyone will tell you too much then. After all, what happens in the house, stays in the house. (Silver in the M Factor Competition) "This story is so hilarious, and it's already my favourite." - " amazing story, full of romance, drama, teenage life and loads more! The storyline is amazing, the characters are easy to visualize." - "An all around perfect book, even though it's a fanfiction!"

5. Very Strange.

In Which Not A Lot Happens, Really.

“So, we kind of need to get to know each other before we do this, right?” Harry said as he came back.

“Sure, I guess.” Liam answered.

“Yeah, so my stepdad has this place where we could live until we go to the Judges’ Houses. He said we could have it, you know, or bonding and stuff.”

“There’s a catch, isn’t there?” Niall asked.

Harry rubbed the back of his neck. “Yeah, well, my Mum isn’t too happy about us being alone with a girl…” he trailed off.

I realized they were all looking at me.

“Oh!” I said. “Oh, no, that’s okay! I’ve lived in a co-ed boarding school for four years, and believe me, everyone knew the mastercode. And I have an older brother, nothing I haven’t seen already.” I waved it off.

The guys blushed, Harry the most.

“Uhm, I don’t think you’re the problem for her…”

“But I’m not a girly girl!” I said.

They all rose their eyebrows.

“No, seriously not! I’m totally immature and perverted and I hang around almost only guys and just because I wear dresses sometimes, don’t think I couldn’t totally kick any of your bums any day at Poker and Pool!” They all looked pretty unconvinced, so I looked at them seriously (which was rare, you know, for me). “Really, guys. It’s gonna be cool. You’d be surprised at how un-girly I am.”

“Okay, I say let’s give it a shot!” Niall released me.

“Great, I’m gonna call the olds. But give me your numbers?” They all pulled out their phones and we just gave them around in a circle, everyone typing in their contact.

“Brill, thanks!”

“Mo-ooom, it’s gonna be cool, how come you let me live with Paul, of all people, and in a co-ed Boarding School, but don’t trust me enough to be in a bungalow with five boys who totally aren’t my type for two weeks?” I groaned. I didn’t seem like it, but I was actually the most rational in my family, apart from my dad. That was probably why I was so immature around my friends—I always had to be the grown-up at home, taking care of everyone, putting my Mom to bed when she came back from work at 11p.m. and not the other way round.

“I don’t know, munchkin…”

“Mom! I’ve finished school! I’m no munchkin anymore! I am a woman, and I can’t believe you won’t let me do this even though I’d do apartment sharing with guys at uni!” I threw up my arms. “God, I swear, you’re so illogical!”

I had her.

“Fine,” she said, indignated. “But you’ll tell your father and don’t blame me if anything happens. Don’t come running.”

Boom, she’d hung up on me. But I had what I wanted.

“I can’t come running, there’s an ocean between the US and the UK,” I mumbled, sticking my tongue out at the phone. Okay, so I had already told the guys I still had one test to write, so I was going to take the train to the nearest station, and they were going to pick me up and get me to the bungalow. I still had half an hour until my train back to school came, and I needed ten minutes to get to the station.

“Charlie?” Someone tapped me on the shoulder.

I turned to see Anne smiling at me.

“Hi, Anne!” I chirped, hugging her—much to her surprise, I guess, because it took her a few seconds to hug me back. What can I say? I’m a hugger.

“So your son made it?”

She smiled brilliantly. “Yes, I guess. It was really confusing and I couldn’t talk to him for long, but all I got was that they put him through.”

“That’s awesome, tell him congrats!”

“What about you, Charlie?” she asked. “Oh, and thank you for the Wagon Wheel, by the way.”

I smiled sheepishly. “You’re welcome. And yeah, it was very strange, but I somehow ended up in a band, and I made it!”

“Great!” She seemed to be honestly happy for me, other than the other families who hated everyone else as they were competition for their precious children.

“I know!” I said, giggling. I looked at my watch, I didn’t have much time left.

“Sorry, Anne, but I really, really have to go. But wait-“ I pulled a piece of paper out of my bag, scribbling down my number on it with a Jack Wills pen that was always in my bag. I really liked Anne, I felt we had some kind of weird but awesome connection, so I figured we should stay in touch. I put my name under it and gave her the note.

“That’s my number, we should really stay in touch.”

She laughed. “You should really meet my son. He’s addicted to Jack Wills.” Gay much?

“So am I!” I giggled. “It’s only the best brand in the world, but yeah. If I get famous with this, all I’m going to wear is Jack Wills, Cath Kidston and CCC. But I really, really have to go, my train’s going in twenty minutes…” I felt awfully rude, but she just smiled.

“Sure, off with you, and I have to find Harry.”

I waved for a taxi and she started looking around, finally waving to someone.

“Oh, and tell him I love his name, his mother made a good choice!” I called after her, shutting the door.

I couldn’t hear what she said, but she turned around and waved, smiling.
