Estrella will soon find out that running from the past is easier said than done. Will she ever find her birth parents? Will she ever let Harry back in her heart or is it to late?

19. Mother Dearest

Estrella’s P.O.V

“Excuse me? What do you mean you’re my mother?” I asked as I looked at Sheriff Lopez with a confused expression on my face.

“Well she’s right about the running away part.” Harry mumbled.

“This is SO not the time for your bullshit STYLES!” I said as gave him a cold look. He just rolled his eyes as Lopez finally spoke.

“My name is Marisol Lopez and I’m your birth mother. I really would love to have dinner with you later on to discuss this because I don’t think this is the best place to be talking to you about this.”

“No you’re right this isn’t the place to talk to me, and honestly I have nothing to discuss with you.” I said as proceeded to walk out.

“Don’t be upset with me, I did what I thought was best for you.” Marisol said

I turned around because something snapped. “ I’m not upset at the fact that you gave me away, I’m sure you had a good enough reason, one that I honestly don’t care about because I think I came out pretty awesome without any help from you. I am though pretty pissed at the fact that you knew me name, most likely my address since you are a cop and yet I received NOTHING! NO PHONE CALLS, NO LETTERS, NOTHING! YOU NEVER TRIED TO EVEN CONTACT ME ALL THESE YEARS!”

                “I’m sorry”

“Sheriff Lopez don’t you dare apologize because saying I’m sorry means that you care, and I can tell by your lack of action over the years that you can care less.”

With that being said I stormed out of the police station. On the way back to the hotel I did something I never thought would be possible… I didn’t cry. I didn’t break down into tears, I was being strong without even trying, either that or my body was just incapable of making any more tears. I made it to the hotel and when straight to my hotel room, I didn’t want to talk to anyone especially the boys but behold when I entered my room, the room that only I myself was supposed to have the key for, the people that I least wanted to see were there.

“Love you guy but now is seriously not the time.” I said as I passed Liam, Zayn, Natasha, Niall and Louis sitting on the sofa.

“Hey it’s always the time when it comes to us!” Louis said

“We’re not here to hang out Estrella.” Zayn said.

“So why exactly are you present in MY hotel room?”

“We got a phone call from a Marisol Lopez…. and by that expression on your face I gather that the name sounds familiar.” Liam said.

I didn’t speak so Liam continued.  “She told us that she wanted to have dinner with you and gave us the address to a restaurant. She sounded pretty eager about this; she said she’s going to be waiting there for you at 8pm.”

“Well I hope she doesn’t hold her breath because I refuse to go meet that woman anywhere!”

“Estrella… she said if you go she can help Harry get out of jail.” Niall explained.

Clever woman using the man I love as bait, she might not know how to contact her long lost daughter but she sure as hell knows how to do her job.

“Fine, I’ll go.”

“I don’t mean to be nosey but seeing as I am the best friend that is part of my job description. Who’s this Marisol?”

“She’s the sheriff.” I said bluntly

“Well no shit Estrella I know that but I mean... who is she to you? Why is it so important that she has this dinner with you, what is it she wants to talk to you about?”

“Maybe why instead of being called Estrella Lopez I’ve been called Estrella Perez for all these years.  She’s my birth mother.”

After the shock past they all started asking questions, all of which I couldn’t answer at least not yet. I finally got all of them out except Natasha so I can get ready for what I knew was going to be an awkward and intense dinner.

“How you feeling about all of this?” Natasha asked

“I mean I have mixed emotions about the whole thing. I’m pissed because I mean she never bothered to eve try to contact me but I’m glad I actually have a face to who my real mom is.” I answered

“Well me being the little detective that I am I used the power of the World Wide Web to find out about your mother dearest.” Natasha said as she turned the computer towards my direction.

I stared at the picture of Marisol and there’s no doubt about it that she was in fact my mom. I always wondered why I didn’t look like my parents and I know now it’s because I looked just like my real mother. Marisol and I shared almost every physical facial feature, eyes, nose, lips even ears.

As I examined the photo Natasha interrupted. “Gosh you guys look alike. She looks so young too.”

I didn’t respond and just continued to get ready as Natasha read to me about what she could find about Marisol which wasn’t much really, she couldn’t even find her birthday, some detective she was. All she could find about her was the info they wrote on the police station website. Apparently Marisol isn’t big on the social network seen. Before I knew it I looked at the clock and it was 7:30pm and time to go have dinner, a dinner that might just change my life forever.
