Good Luck Charm (Book 1)

“3…2…1…” I told myself and flung open the door. No one was there, that was strange. I stepped outside to see if they were hiding behind one of the bushes, but tripped on something, I nearly fell down the stairs. Good think they invented railings, or I wouldn’t have had a firm grip on anything... “Perrie… you have a little bit more to worry about..." Danielle slowly said as she looked at the ground. There, on the ground was a large package, which looked full of something. On the outside it was clearly marked in thick, red marker: Leave the boys alone! If you contact them, I will hurt you.

2. Phone Call

Amber’s Point of View

As soon as I got home, I turned on the vacuum cleaner and the music on full blast. I couldn’t have one moment without music. I had no clue why, it was just like that. What Makes You Beautiful came on, and instantly my eyes filled with tears. I already missed my Nialler, and it had only been a few hours. I turned off the vacuum and sat down on the soft, leather couch. It was so comfy, and it was Niall’s favourite.

“I miss you, Niall,” I sobbed. It was only for a little while… just then the phone started to ring. It was tempting to leave it, knowing it could just be another fan that got a hold of our number, but instinct took over. I slowly got up from the phone and checked the caller ID: Nialler

“Hello?” I picked up the phone as soon as I saw it. I tried my best to shove away the tears and put on my bravest voice.

“Amberger!” Niall’s voice enthusiastically replied from the other line. “How’re you doing?”

“You want the truth?” I asked as I turned sat down on the leather couch again. I didn’t bother turning down the music, it was my favourite song and I didn’t think Niall would mind.

                “The truth.”

                “Horrible,” I sighed.

“Baby you light up my world like nobody else, the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed!” Niall sung from the other line. It was the same part of the song that I was listening too. Soon the other boys started joining in; I could hear them clear as a bell. Niall must have put it on loudspeaker. I enjoyed listening to their voices as they carelessly sung, most likely in a private lounge area in the airport.

“Wow! You guys are amazing!” I exclaimed when the song was done. It was a dumb thing to say; of course they were amazing to have gotten so far.

“Thanks, love!” Louis shouted from the other end. I smiled as Niall started to shout at Louis for calling me love, but then stopped.

“Sorry, Amber, I have to keep in mind Louis automatically calls girls, love,” Niall apologized in a sorry tone.

                “It’s fine, Niall.”

“Good. Anyway, I just wanted to phone to see if you got home alright, and how you were doing. I should be going though…”

“Wait!” I stopped him from hanging up.

“Have you by any chance hid some of the food? There seems to be nothing in the house, and El, Dani and Perrie are coming over tonight, and I thought they might like some food.”

“Umm…” I could hear Niall start to think. It was like him to hide some of the chips somewhere so I wouldn’t find them. “No... I don’t think so,” he finally said after a few minutes.

“Okay... that’s good… I mean bad… but thanks for telling the truth.” I laughed at myself and turned down the radio so the song wouldn’t interfere with my conversation.

“He’s lying!” Harry’s voice burst from the other end. “I was at your house yesterday and he had a great stash of - ” He was cut short by Niall’s interruption.

“Don’t listen to him, Amb! He’s lying!”

“I do NOT lie!” Harry protested. “Oww! Don’t slap me, Niall, that’s not nice!” He yelped and I heard Harry’s hand come down on Niall. I laughed at them; they never failed to put a smile on my face.

“Okay! I’ll go shopping and spend your money, Niall,” I threatened in the most serious tone I could come up with.

“Wait! Okay! Fine… there are some chips underneath my bed,” Niall admitted. “But can you please replace them?”

“I will,” I promised. “But I should go and continue cleaning. Love you.”

“Love you too; I have to go get on that plane. Bye.”

“Bye…” I pressed end call, and sat on the couch thinking for many more minutes.

Nialls point of view

It hurt me to listen to Amber’s voice, especially when she sounded so down and I couldn’t do anything about it. I was just thankful that the boys helped make her a little happier.

“We’re boarding in a sec, Nialler,” Liam announced as I closed my cell phone.

“Thanks… how’re the fans and paparazzi?”

“Crazy,” Liam shook his head. “I don’t know when they will ever leave us alone!”

“I know,” Louis joined in as he came and through a bag of Doritos on my lap. “For you, Niall.”

“Thanks, Lou,” I said as I eagerly opened them. Food! I loved food, and I had no clue what I would do if it ceased to exist. Food was just what I needed at that moment, anyway. “They don’t even leave the girls alone.”

“It’s crazy, but it’s the life they chose,” Harry chimed in. We all sighed. Since Harry didn’t have a girlfriend at that point, he didn’t understand what we were going through. He never had a girlfriend who was young, like ours, and he had no clue what it was like when the media was climaxing, barging in on our lives and our girlfriends. I didn’t mind it, well I did… but I’d rather them barge in on me than my girlfriend.

“Okay, boys! Here we go! American Up All Night Tour is now back!” Paul announced as he came into the room. “The plane is safe for you to board now; you guys are the last ones on, just for safety. The first class area is where you boys are, and your personal body guards will be by you at all times in first class, and other security will be available in the economy class,” he explained. “You’re bags are already in the plane, so it’s just the carry-ons and passports.”

                “Paul,” I said.

“Why do we need passports? It’s pretty obvious who we are, and that we’re not fakes,” I said. “Unless someone is the master of disguise.”

“It’s protocol, and you can’t travel without it. It’s just security, too, Niall. So, grab your passports and tickets so we can board.”

“Right-o!” Louis said as he grabbed his bag. I grabbed mine, but not putting away my snacks.

“Let’s get this done, woot!” Liam shouted, and I nervously smiled. I didn’t have anything against flying, it was just that I did get claustrophobic easily, and sitting in a plane for who knows how many hours with hundreds of people just wasn’t the most appealing to me.
