Good Luck Charm (Book 1)

“3…2…1…” I told myself and flung open the door. No one was there, that was strange. I stepped outside to see if they were hiding behind one of the bushes, but tripped on something, I nearly fell down the stairs. Good think they invented railings, or I wouldn’t have had a firm grip on anything... “Perrie… you have a little bit more to worry about..." Danielle slowly said as she looked at the ground. There, on the ground was a large package, which looked full of something. On the outside it was clearly marked in thick, red marker: Leave the boys alone! If you contact them, I will hurt you.

14. I need you

                Eleanor’s Point of View

I had received a text from Amber soon after she left saying to come quick, so I quickly exited the store, got in my car and drove over to Starbucks. I found a parking spot and hurried in the building.

“El!” Amber screamed and ran over to me. Her whole body was shaking, and she was crying.

“Amber! What happened?!” I questioned. Something would have had to happen to get Amber so emotional. She handed me her cell phone and scrolled down to a certain text message. Wordlessly I read it, horrified.

“Security is on the way,” Amber sniffed as she pushed her phone back in her pocket. “My boss says I don’t have to work today because of it…”

“Okay… how about you come home with me?” I asked as I slowly put my hands on her shoulders. “There you can phone Niall, and we’ll get this all sorted out.”

“Okay…” Amber slowly agreed with a nod of her head. Security came through the door, and Amber handed over her phone for evidence and got asked a few questions before I drove her back to my apartment.

She sat down on the couch, and I put on the kettle for a cup of tea. I knew she always appreciated something like that. I then took the home phone off the hook and handed it to Amber.

“Here you go. Phone Niall; take as long as you want. The kettle is boiling if you want me to make you tea. I’ll just be in my study studying if you need anything,” I said with a smile. I looked into her eyes. They were huge and scared, but she carefully accepted the phone, blocking away the tears. Slowly I walked away to my study and closed my door for privacy. Truthfully I wasn’t studying; instead I was sitting in the dark corner and crying…

Ambers Point of View

I carefully dialled Niall’s number and waited. I was holding back tears, and trying not to shake too much. In reality my whole body was shaking, and I didn’t trust my voice at all. I was scared that as soon as I heard Niall’s voice I would break down crying.

                One Ring…

                Two Rings…

                Three Rings….

“Hello? El, is that you?” Niall asked in a rushed voice. “Can I call you back? We’re busy in promo…”

“My Good Luck Charm!” I whispered into the phone as one tear trickled down my cheek. “Niall, my Irish boy, I need you. I need to be in your arms, and hear you say everything’s going to be okay.”

“Amberger?! What’s the matter? Why aren’t you calling from your phone?” Immediately Niall got all business and it broke my heart. His voice was full of concern, and I could hardly bear it.

Niall’s Point of View

By her voice I could tell that something was wrong. I was in the middle of a signing, but I excused myself quickly and ran into a more private room, which was hard to find. I eventually came to a backroom where we had hung out before going out to sign the records.

“The… the threats… they… they sent me a text,” Amber cried. My heart went out to her, I could barely stand to hear her cry.

“What did they say?” I tried to sound caring, but I needed to know what was going on.

“They said… they said that they weren’t kidding... and… and…” she didn’t continue instead I heard her gasping for breath while crying. She was so fragile. Why did they have to target her?

“It’s okay… it’s okay…” I soothed, but wished I could hug her. She said she wanted to hug me, I wanted to give her a hug too. I wanted to assure her that nothing would ever happen to her when I was on watch. But I couldn’t. I was a world away from her. Why did life have to be so frustrating? I paced the floor while hearing her cry, and speak, even though you couldn’t hear the words.

“Nialler?! What happened??” Louis asked as he came storming into the room. He didn’t look to happy with me. “Everyone is wondering what happened, and you shouldn’t even have the phone out there in the first place!”

“Tommo! Stop!” I angrily said. “Amber just received another threat and she’s freaking out!” I shouted at him while covering the speaker. I knew Amber heard, and that would probably get her even more upset.

I watched as Louis’ face suddenly softened.

“I have to go Amber,” I quickly said and hung up before listening to Louis’ next words.

“Go to her,” he said in a soft voice.

“Tommo? What?!” I exclaimed. Was I dreaming??

“I said go to her, man! She needs you!” Louis said again and came up to me, held my shoulders so I would stop pacing. “She needs you, man. No one else will be able to comfort her but you. Go.”

“What about promo? What about the concerts?” I asked, frustrated. Why was Louis trying so hard to get my hopes up???

“I’ll sort it out with Paul, but I’m going to book you the next ticket to London. She needs you, Niall. She needs you more than we do…”
