They Don't Know You [Niall Horan]

"We accept the love we think we deserve," But that's the thing, what if I don't deserve it? What if the only reason the idea to leave was put in his head in the first place, was because I didn't deserve him. I swear, I would do everything in my power, to be the only one that deserves him.

1. Prologue

"If someone said three years from now,
You'd be long gone, I'd stand up,
and punch them out, 'cause they're all wrong"

"Stop it!" Sixteen year old Dawson Grey squealed as her best friend Niall Horan shot her with a water gun. "I'm soaked," She frowned, looking at the dry boy in front of her. A sly smile crept onto her face. He raised his eyebrow at her, and she walked forward slowly.

"C'mere Niall, give me a famous Horan hug," She grinned, and ran after him as he sprinted away from her.

She finally caught up to him, and jumped on his back, causing the two to fall to the ground. She laughed loudly, and rolled of his back.

"Dawes, I'm all wet," Niall pouted, causing Dawson to laugh harder, clutching her stomach, and rolling on the ground as she did so. She looked over at Niall, still giggling to herself wildly.

"Jesus," Niall muttered, as Dawson calmed down from all the laughter. Dawson smiled to herself, before scooting over to Niall's side. He wrapped an arm around her, and pulled her close to him.

"We've known each other since kindergarten," Niall stated plainly.

"Yeah, so?" Dawson asked, confused.

"Nothing, I'm just glad," He grinned down at her, and she returned it, before resting her head on his chest.

"Me too," She whispered.

"That last kiss, I'll cherish, until we meet again,
And time makes, it harder, I wish I could remember,
But I'll keep, your memory, you visit me in my sleep,
My darling,
Who knew?"

*A While Later*

"Good luck," Dawson smiled sadly, a tear running down her cheek.

"It won't be forever Dawes. I'll come back to you," Niall whispered, wrapping his arm around and pulling her closer.

"You say that..." She tralied off, with a sniff, and he wiped her cheek.

"I mean it," He replied simply, kissing the top of her head.

"Call as soon as you can, okay?" She asked, looking up at him. He gave her a weak smile, and nodded in return.

"Of course," He responded, before walking out to the car that was waiting for him.

"Bye Niall," She whispered, and watched him drive away.

Thatwas the last time Dawson Grey saw her best friend Niall Horan in person. Sure, they talked on the phone, or video chatted, but it wasn't the same, and they eventually lost contact.

She loved him, and he didn't even know.
