2. "We're In London"

*Riley’s Point of View*

Sleep. Sleep is nice. Sleeping in a bed is fun. Seeping on a plane is not fun. But I am stuck on a plane for the next 10 hours, and I want to sleep. So I’ll try. Luckily I’m in between Nikki and Kaulena, so I can spread out on top of them without feeling guilty.

“Oh finally, the captain turned off the seatbelt sign. I have to pee.” Nikki says, getting up out of her seat. We were in the very front row of coach, so Nikki had to walk all the way to the back of the plane. It was a small plane. Since we have a tight budget, we booked a plane that was an airline we had never heard of before. There were probably only about 30 othere people here, including the staff. Not many people trust small aircrafts. But hey, it was cheap.

“How long has it been?” I ask Kaulena.

“We just got steady in the air so, about 45 minutes.”

I groan loudly. “We have nine hours and 15 minutes left! Kaulena, kill me, now. I can’t take this.”
“Calm down drama queen.” She giggles.

“I’m not a drama queen! Fine if you won’t kill me, beat me until I lose consciousness, or  give me sleeping pills or something!”

“Please, if I could beat you until you lost consciousness, I would. But sadly, that is frowned upon in an airplane.”

“Oh? But if were anywhere else, you would do it?”

            “Only for you.”

I pat her on the shoulder and pretend to wipe tears from my eyes. “Kaulena, you’re a true friend.”

“God, what did I miss?” Nikki says, sitting back down.

“Kaulena here, was threatening to beat me until I lost consciousness.” I say.

“Why would you do that?” Nikki asks Kaulena.

“She asked me to!” Kaulena says.

“God Kaulena, you don’t have to make up lies. We all know how you want to pummel me to a pulp.” I say, smiling to myself and closing my eyes.

“What are you talking about!” Kaulena almost shouts. “You asked me to! Remember, you said you couldn’t take this long flight so you told me to beat you so you could fall asleep?”

“Ma’am, I’m going to need you to lower your voice.” A flight attendant says. “Others are starting to complain.”

“Sorry.” Kaulena whispers. The flight attendant walks away and Nikki starts to laugh hysterically that she nearly cries.

“I can’t believe you did that to me, Riley.” Kaulena saya.

I snore and pretend to be asleep, spreading my legs on top of her and resting my head on Nikki’s lap. Nikki continues to laugh and Kaulena sighs.

“Should have seen this coming.”

I smile to myself again. I love messing with my friends.

9 hours and 10 minutes later

I jump awake as I feel the plane jiggle around me.

            “What’s happening!”

“We’re landing.” Nikki says, looking at me like I’m crazy.

“We can’t be landing we just took off.” I say.

“To you we just took off. To everyone else it’s been nine hours.” Kaulena says.

“I slept the whole plane ride?” I ask.

“Yeah! On us the whole time! You kept kicking Kaulena, which was hilarious by the way-.”

            “Was not!” Kaulena interrupts.

“- and you kept pushing down on my shoulder and it hurts a lot now.”

“What the hell were you even dreaming about that you need to kick so much?” Kaulena asks angrily.

“I was running through a meadow with Liam Payne.”

They roll their eyes. “Of course.”

“I’m sorry guys. I never thought I would have slept so long. I would have sat on the end so you guys could have talked.” I say.

“No you wouldn’t have. You were planning to use us to sleep on this whole time.” Nikki says.

“Okay maybe.” I say smiling. “But I honestly didn’t think I would have slept the whole flight. Time flies when you dream about your future husband.”

“Apparently you can sleep like a baby right after embarrassing me.” Kaulena says, crossing her arms around her chest.

“Oh yeah! I remember that! That was hilarious.” Nikki starts to laugh hysterically again.

“No it wasn’t! It was humiliating. The woman kept staring at me the rest of the flight.”

“Oh Kaulena, it’s fine! It’s our first memory we will have in London.” I say. Then we all stop. Kaulena slowly opens the window next to her. It was dark out, due to the fact it was 10 at night here.

“Guys,” Kaulena says, “We’re in London.”
