13. Packing

I smiled after her and took a deep breath. I crossed the road and walked a meer one hundred yards before I got to my back gate. I went down the dark, concrete road. A tall, dark tree loomed over the gate. I unlocked the latch and made my way to the back door. It was locked, too. One of the side windows were open. I made my way on to the grass. It was all wet; my shoes were soaked too. I put my arm through the open window and opened it futher and pulled myself in.

I hurridly went up to my room. Turning the light on and pulling the blackout blind. Quickly, I pulled my hair into a clear cap, putting the red wig over the top. I got into my purple dress and moved onto my possesions. I didn't have much in the way of possesions but dad said that I could get more when we get to our "new" home. Most of my belongings were in my bag, the only things I had to put in were:

20 more pairs of underware

6 more dresses

10 pairs of trousers

10 pairs of dresses

10 pairs of shorts

20 pairs of a shirts

5 cardigans

a scapbook

a family photo

Scrappy (my toy!)

and some socks / shoes.

After this I ran down the stairs, checking the time on the mantlepiece. 3:50 pm. About ten minutes before I was to meet my dad at the train station. I hurried out the door and down the street. Running for my life, I knew that this could be a start of a knew life, which could be lived happily. The only thing that could stop me was my mum. Yes, she was killed, but it wasn't my fault The guilt will  allways be with me. I got to the train station in time to catch the train, my dad was on the other platform.
