I immediently turn to my right, looking straight into the woods which surrounded the area around the stony, winding lane. My eyes flickering between the tall trees trying to find the being that lurked amongst them. Footprints were forced onto the muddy sidepath, leading the way through a gap in the trees, from sight it looked as if the being who was there before hand was wearing no shoes ; smaller footprints came to sight as we neard the mansion. After a second or two, I realised that the smaller footprints which led and also stopped at the 'humans' were more likely a dog footprint.

I placed my hand under my chin resting my elbow on the ledge in which you opened the door from inside. I yawned out of fear, I was scared of my own life. And once again there was no one to help me, no one at all. I could only help myself. To my disbelief, the being revealled itself to me as we neared the last bend in the road before we reached the gate.

It stood there, barefoot. It's skin looked slightly burnt as if he had previously spent to much time in the sun, the being had no hair ; only a bit of black stubble, which seemed he purpously kept it rather short, maybe to keep it out of the way? Dad's hair was quite long for a male and it always got in his way... So perhaps that was the reason, or maybe not. Maybe he has an illness? No that can not be the reason, if he was ill he wouldn't be out in the freezing cold. The being would be in a warm bed getting some rest.

"Why is that stupid man standing in the cold with barely any clothes on. It's ludicrous!" My mother yelped, in her whining voice.

She seemed tired and annoyed, probabally still annoyed with dad for driving 'too fast'.

"What, where is this man?" Dad replied.

I looked at the place where I saw him last, no being stood in that empty space now. Just a large muddy puddle.

Mum looked behind her, to look at me.

"Did you see it to?" She mouthed, empthasizing 'it'.

In response to this question, I just meerly nodded. She quickly turned back in her seat, making small endless talk to my father.

The man who killed my mother, the being was after him.
