Crystal Raindrops

A normal life suddenly turned into something different. A war is about to unfold, with only one person able to stop it. An orphan boy Jozua who is 16 years old, is the reincarnation of an old hero who once before has saved both the earth and it's parallel world. Can he save it again? By turning back the time on the journey to the parallel world, can the hero really be reborn once again?

1. Prologue: Just a dream

Voices emerged from the darkness long before the surroundings started to take form. The voices were low and unclear, but it was still a shivering desperate voice, as if it was crying out for help. The surroundings formed and tall walls rose from the never ending darkness. Big white and empty walls, these walls could belong anywhere in a big impersonal building. Silhouettes became clearer in the middle of the room. There were 2 of them, whose voices were still unclear as a radio missing its signal. As the silhouettes became clear and colorful, and a wooden table and a big comfortable throne appeared out of nowhere, the silhouette on the throne looking chair was a man in his thirties, with auburn hair down to his shoulders, in his hair a pair of wolf ears were hiding. His brown eyes were watching a younger man probably around twenty of age with long silver hair to the middle of his back. The younger man’s grey eyes were full of tears, his less visible wolf ears were laid back and his voice was desperate, his voice had finally become clear enough to make sense of. “We can’t ignore this Sir! Please call for help I beg of you. This world will be destroyed, and you know that it will have consequences for the parallel world too. Please Sir!” the silver haired man said “I understand your concern Ghayle, but at this moment there is nothing I can do. We are not ready yet, I want you to understand that. Don’t do anything rash. I know you feel responsible for this, but it’s not yet time.”

What wasn’t yet time? I didn’t understand it, might be because I missed the first half of their conversation. I felt confused, and desperate to know what was happening, if this was my dream, I was supposed to know, right? Ghayle’s tears were running as he had finally let them loose. “If… When will we be ready sir?” He continued “You know I have to do it, I am the only one who can do it. I don’t want to sit back and watch this, Kyran.”  The other man, named Kyran looked at him with irritating patience in his eyes. “I know Ghayle, but sometimes you just have to do as you’re told and wait for the right time to bring him back to us. If we do it wrong we might end up losing one of you, or worse.” Kyran was resting his head in his palm, but he never once let his eyes see anything else than Ghayle who was standing in front of him. “I wouldn’t want to lose you…” That was Kyran’s last words before the colors disappeared, in an explosion or something close to it. The voices were gone, the white walls and the silhouettes where gone. All I could see was darkness for a few seconds, before a green light appeared along with the white forest. The trees were pure white like crystals. The trees were shining in the green light. For a second a feeling of unexplainable fear rushed over me. My whole body started to shiver, even though I did not know what scared me like this, I knew this wasn’t the first time it scared me. I tried to look up to see the shadow, but unfortunately it had already disappeared behind the white trees without me getting the smallest glance at it. No matter how many times I’ve tried this, I always end up not seeing it at all. When the feeling of fear and the shadow disappeared, the world started to crumble around me and yet again all the colors disappeared in a sudden explosion and the dream was gone… again.
