Memorry Ridden

Memories....sometimes taken for granted. What would happen if they all just disappeared one day? Starting over is the only explanation till those memories soon return.

1. Prologue

There was a slight chill in the air this morning. The sun wasn’t out; it was mainly covered by smoke. These people raided our town but I’m not sure why. All I know is that the leader of these people is Damien. My family told me not to worry about them even though I’m terrified. All of a sudden I felt someone wrap their hands around my waist. I turned my head and saw it was Cody. I looked into his grey eyes and looked at his facial features. He had thin lips-they were strangely inviting- and he had pale white skin but it made his eyes stand out on his face. He kissed my forehead and leaned his head on mine. I rubbed my hand through his fluffy, long chestnut colored hair.

“I wish we could go out like we used to.” I frowned. He didn’t say anything. That was one of my favorite traits of his. He didn’t have to talk all the time he would just think and enjoy that we were together.

“Come with me.” He slid his hands off my waist and reached for my hand and entwined his fingers with mine as he led the way to somewhere unknown. We walked out the back door into the woods and up a hill. The hill was huge and such a hard walk but when we finally got up there the view was gorgeous. You could see everything from the top of the hill. If only the smoke would disappear and the sun could shine on the town this would be the most breathe taking spot in the world. I smiled at Cody then sat down and admired the view. “Olivia.” I looked at him and leaned into his arms.

“Cody.” I tried to make my voice sound as sexy as his but it didn’t work out that well. He smiled anyway which made me feel better.

“I love you more than you could ever imagine. You’re so perfect.” His voice was soft and I knew he really meant it.

“Together forever no matter what, I promise.” There was a loud bang that broke the moment. I froze looking down towards the house. I heard the sound of twigs cracking. The noise seemed to be really close, too close. “What was that?”

“It was probably just an animal or something.” Someone grabbed me from behind and tore me to the ground. “Olivia!” Cody screamed as he ran towards me. Some guy hit him in the head from behind but I couldn’t see with what. He fell to the ground but I could tell he was still breathing.

“Let me go” I tried to get up but I couldn’t move. Everything blurred together, my body began to go numb like I was paralyzed, and my brain felt like it was shutting down.
