A battle against good and evil. Who could possible win in this battle? The good or the evil, the light or the dark, or the angels or the demons?

1. Destruction

The kingdom was more gorgeous today than usual. The tall, new castle stood out as the snow fell around it. It was truly a sight to see. I looked around the kingdom and saw my people all bundled up looking at the castle as I was. Even the trees were beautiful, the way the snow fell on top of them made our kingdom look like a dream.

"Your Majesty!" Morris-one of my servants- shouted. I looked over towards him. He was short, with platinum gold hair with a pair of bright blue eyes that stood out on his face. His face was beat red from the cold, I had to admit it was freezing out even though I didn't mind it. "Your brother he's going to be coming here!" I froze. I couldn’t form any words. We simply weren't ready for him. Our army was weak from the past war and that's exactly what he wanted. "Should I prepare our army?" I nodded.

“There are rumors about Benjamin's army being stronger than ours. So get all the men you can muster for the army.” Morris nodded and I could tell that he was afraid but we all were.

"I'll tell the people. Set up a gathering in the throne room at 2 p.m." I said calmly. Morris nodded and faded into the blizzard. I walked slowly around my kingdom-hearing the crunching of the snow with each step I take- thinking how our kingdom is going to survive this attack. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be a lot of casualties but we must prepare the best we can.

It was 2 p.m. and I was in the throne room looking at all the people who were looking back at me. Some looked nervous, some excited, some undetermined.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I've called you here today because my brother, Benjamin, is coming to our kingdom." The crowd started to become frantic from fear.

"Settle down everyone!" Morris shouted. I smiled at Morris to show him I appreciated him trying to quiet everyone down.

"Listen, I know you’re scared but we can defeat him. I'm going to do everything in my power to protect you all."

"That's not good enough!" One of the people shouted.

"We knew banishing Benjamin would only get us so far, it was good, till now. We are going to prepare our army and have our best soldiers on guard. I will die before any of you do. I will not let Benjamin win." The crowd was still frantic; the sound of their voices echoed throughout my body. The main thing with dealing with people is not telling them how you really feel. If you tell them you’re scared and that thousands of people are going to die the world would break into chaos.

Morris escorted me out and into my bedroom where Peter-my husband- was. He came over and hugged me.

"I heard about Benjamin, are you okay?" I nodded.

"It was going to happen sooner or later, although I prefer the later."

"How long do we have before he comes?"

"About 230 days at most." I buried my head in Peter's chest as he wrapped his warm, big hands around my waist. It made me think of when we were younger and my parents were in charge. We were inseparable or so everyone said. He was my best friend and was there for me through everything and I did the same for him. Even back then I knew we would spend the rest of our lives together. My mother once told me “that our love could overcome anything in the world,” and I believed her 100 percent and that will never change.

I distracted myself from the past with the present. I know Benjamin is going to be way more dangerous than when he was younger. Who knows what he has learned. Peter leaned his head on top of mine like he was thinking the outcome of the battle, but even he knows that this can only end in death.

“Everything will be okay. Your people believe in you and so do I. We know you will do everything you can for your kingdom.”
