1. The Beast Inside

The Beast Inside

As day turns to night
On the one of the full moon,
I feel my body morphing, changing
Into the beast inside.

As pain shoots through my limbs,
And animal instincts take over my mind
I am no longer me.
I am the beast inside.

I run, I howl,
I defend, and I attack.
I don’t have my thoughts anymore.

I have the thoughts of the beast inside.

I find my prey and I pounce.
They have no time to escape.
I don’t have my conscience anymore.
I have the conscience of the beast inside.

As the cold forest ground moves under my feet,
The snow drifts lightly on my head.
I don’t have my feelings anymore.
I have the feelings of the beast inside.

I am me again.
I have no beastly thoughts, conscience, or actions.
I have that of a human.
But I know it’s there, beneath the surface.
For we all have the beast inside.

As night turns to day
On the one of the full moon,
I feel my body morphing, changing,
Out of the beast inside.
