The Risk

15 year old Cassie Acquah doesn't realize what "risk" is until she gets herself stuck... The thing is, a board game isn't really the same as real life, so how will she survive when she gets thrown head-first into one. Well, I suppose she COULD fall in love with the troop leader, become a soldier and explore the world on horseback, but how will she ever get out?

2. The Note

I suddenly felt a deep pang of guilt surge through me. What had I done? I chased after him, up the marble staircase, my socks slipping uncomfortably over the sleek floor. I heard the trapdoor slam, and I winced a little. There was no way I was going to get him out of the tower, not even if I hollered at him, not even with the reassuring smeel of warm, fresh brownies. I gradually let the thought consume me, and it made me relax and close my eyes, pondering over the delectable taste, the mouth-watering- SLAM. The door felt as thought it had rattled the very foundations of our mansion. That could only mean one thing, and that was the living hell that was Mami's new boyfriend. She tried to pretend that she was still on great term with Papi, but I told her that I wasn't a kid anymore; on the other hand, I would still never understand.

No, no, no... Dan couldn't come in now. Not when Ben was like this, I knew how much this would upset him. My brain swirled around in my skull, a myriad of thoughts (mostly of impending gloom) being processed. I did what I though was best in the limited time, and grabbed a sketpad from my bedroom. In my usual, rushed scrawl I wrote:

Sorry About before, you want to play a game? Cassie :)

And I pushed it up hopefully through the slit in the trapdoor.
