The Risk

15 year old Cassie Acquah doesn't realize what "risk" is until she gets herself stuck... The thing is, a board game isn't really the same as real life, so how will she survive when she gets thrown head-first into one. Well, I suppose she COULD fall in love with the troop leader, become a soldier and explore the world on horseback, but how will she ever get out?

39. Running Into Trouble

Rachel's P.O.V.

I woke up, still with the agonizing pain throbbing within my hip, to a bale of water being thrown hastily over my face. I sat up abruptly, spluttering and gasping, my face being cleansed from the dry, stale tear marks that were daubed on my cheeks.

I tried to speak, tryed to protest, by my gaze followed to my captor and my throat was dry and hoarse. "...Fi...fin..." I mumbled, fresh tears starting to roll down my cheeks.

"Shhhhh... save your energy, sweetie, we have a long journey ahead of us!" replied the chillingly patronising voice of my captor.

"I'm not going anywhere," I growled, weakly clutching onto the rubble around me, "I'm waiting for Finnick. He'll come rescue me, I know he will."

"Ah," he chuckled balefully, "I believe Finnick is to be... taken care of. You see, he is the reason I brought you here. My naive child, he is but as foolish as you! He is sure to come and rescue you, don't you think? And so, my plan unravels..." he smirked, catching the minimal amount of light seeping into the cave on his face and illuminating it like fireworks.

"Plan?" I squeaked nervously, although I knew what was coming. Finnick was coming. And, susprisingly, I didn't want him to come anymore.
