Papa, Can You Hear Me?

Greece, 2030, Post-World War 3. Greece have been kicked out of the EU. Many are left starving, and some have died. Wren, a twelve year old girl, is abandoned when her father is visciously attacked by a wolf on the streets. Left to fend for herself, the ony thing that really scares her is these visions she always has about her Mother being captured by "the enemy". When she finds out where her mother, originally thought to be dead, could be held, nothing will stand in her way to find it.

2. In the Forest

There was another one. Another heart-wrenching, cold-blooded, razor-clawed monster, stalking it's prey. Too bad, the prey was me...

It sniffed around the shrubbery for a couple of minutes, with me stone still and swaying on my poorly balanced feet. The wolfs eyes scanned the forest expectantly, its nose perked up and twitched. Silence in the forest. Then, all of a sudden, a twig snapped.

It took all my might not to swivel my head to see what it was. I gritted my teeth... What was it? The cold wind blew past, maybe it was pathetic fallacy happening again. On the other hand, it was always horrible in the forest. I heard a growl from somewhere; I couldn't tell where because my ears were hyper-sensitive but didn't help me balance or inspect the direction, and my eyes were screwed shut in fear of what lay ahead of me. I half-opened one eye, and saw the beast with its back facing me, legs poised but slinking off into the distance. I let out a sigh of relief and let my body relax and fall to the floor because my tense muscles had caused pain and stress to my already frail body.

Then, not even to the full extent, I realized what I had done.

And I heard a loud, ear-splitting, hungry growl from the forest behind me.
